Watson doesn't even have a lot of leverage and passed on our offer.

I'm hoping they sign Watson with not being able to work a sign and trade for Miller. I'd give him 2 years in a heartbeat cause if he has a good year then theyll have him at a discount for next year. If not hes still tradeable. Isnt a 2 year deal all hes asking right now?

I think most of these point guards know that Lou will start and Jrue will get some minutes, so unless the Sixers are their only option, they would be better off going elsewhere.

No one wants to play here right now. It seems like a bad thing, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hope for something. We are just gonna have to gut this thing out for a couple seasons until we can dump salary.

Btw, when Andy Miller called up Stefanski to see if he wanted to match the offer, this is what happened:

Stefanski will be cemented as one of the worse GM's in sixers history
letting Miller walk for nothing is a huge failure and should have never happened.
Miller was almost the only trading chip this team had in the last year and Stefanski was able to screw this up just like he does to everything else he touch.

this team is a joke, the GM is a joke and the ownership is a bad joke.

While reports claim that Andre Miller will be signing deal with Portland, no deal is complete just yet.

“We have been talking with Andre, but at this time we don’t have a deal done,” Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard told CSNPhilly.com’s Dei Lynam.

Miller has spent the last 2½ seasons with the Sixers, who acquired him from Denver in 2006 as part of the Allen Iverson trade.

Maybe they haven't decided yet if they want to part with Blake? Maybe still seeing what other offers are out there for Blake?

There is where you are wrong. the sixers have had plenty of inquiries about our young talent but they have had the good sense to pass on those offers. now that we actually have a real coach and a real system, maybe we can exploit our young talent. i'm much more excited about this season than i have been about them the last two seasons.

anyone who is excited about a team lead by Lou Willaims is..well..you know what i mean
but your user name says it all, and there is nothing wrong with that , you are a fan of Lou , and i want him to do well but i just dont see it.

the sixers young talnet got nothing to do with Miller, the sixers know they wont sign Miller in the summer , so why not trading him on the deadline?
and i dont belive stefanski that there was no worthwhile offers.
stefanski was too scared to trade Miller after the failure of Brand
stefanski is not thinking how to get this team better, all he thinks about is how to save his job and his fat paycheck.

In a way, I'm ecstatic this is done. This situation dragged on way too long and Jordan needed to know what he was dealing with so that he can prepare for camp. No matter who they sign from here on, it is difficult for me to believe that Lou is not starting. If the Princeton offense and Jordan's teaching skills are what they're supposed to be, this should not be a bad thing.

BTW, this also closes the book on the Iverson trade. So now that we have had two complete seasons pass since the trade we can now see that we traded AI for........Jason Smith. Please insert expletive for Billy King here. The one asset we had to trade an rebuild a franchise and two years later we have a 7 foot prospect coming off an ACL injury.

This also means that you absolutely seeing Iguodala starting at the 2 this season (I know there were some rumblings of using Thad as 6th man). With a combo guard at the 1, we are going to need Iggy's playmaking skills in the backcourt and the only way you see Green start at the 2 is if we clearly are tanking. Hope those sessions with Mark Price have been paying off.

Actually it was worse. By getting Joe Smith and Miller they made a run to go from worst to 12th worst record- eliminating a shot at winning the lottery (or at least a top 5 pick. Getting Thad helps dampen that blow.

They also would have gotten a higher pick the following 2 seasons without Miller. Agiain, good draft picks helped.

Also, they also gave up a 2nd round pick to move up and get Smith.

Heard the Sixers were never offered Blake, which they would've liked, and the Blazers would've been interested in a sign-and-trade if Portland could've signed David Lee with their cap space.

I knew this day would come and I knew this was going to happen but I'm still damn pissed. Why the hell didnt you do anything Ed? Why didnt you trade him at the deadline? you are either a) deaf, blind and dumb as **** or b) too goddam cheap to take on salary of a guy who may actually help us and instead opted for the cheap route

It's not the loss of the player im ticked off about it's the fact that stevie wonder could have seen this coming and yet the FO did absolutely nothing. F' you three Ed's

on the positive side this will help progess the development of holiday thats for damn sure

Was told Sixers couldn't get anything worthwhile for Miller at the Feb. 19 trade deadline.

Have they even discussed the idea of bringing back AI?

Can't be any worse of a fit at PG than Lou (and even at this point, he's still a much better player). If anything, you'd think it would at least be a cheap way to boost attendance a bit. It may not of been packed his last couple years here, but at least it wasn't completely dead either. And at least the team would have a little buzz surrounding it.

the idea of bringing back AI makes me even sicker - apparently some of us havent been watching him since he left here

All I said was he's still better than Lou. I guess you were one of those people who wasn't watching, because he was pretty good in Denver.
