Mark Madsen's farewell address

Classy message from a total class act. If he's the worst player in the NBA, the fact that he's remained in the league for nine years is a testament to his attitude, his effort, and the intangibles he brings to the locker room, the practice floor, and the bench. Far more talented players find themselves out of league each year that Madsen continues to collect an NBA paycheck, so that says something about him beyond his skill level. It''s too bad there aren't more Mad Dogs in the league.

Someone from the Wolves said something about Mark a while back that I had never considered. It went something like:

"With a young team, you can't under-estimate how valuable it is to have a player that is always in the right place on the floor, every time, whether he's involved in the play or not."

Mark Madsen may not have been as talented as many of the uber-athletes that the NBA draws, but he was one of its most professional.

Love Mark Madsen, and yes, I'm legitimately sad to see him go. I think he was a great vet presence in the locker room. He was like 12th man, so yeah, obviously not the best player out there, but I'd take him on my team anytime (maybe not for 2 mil lol). CLASS ACT all around, wish him all the best.

I would be happy if he was bought out by the Clippers and came back as an assistant coach. Maybe he could help the rookies with defense and desire.

Back in my nerd days (ok, so I'm still a nerd), but when I was a freshman in college I did this internet wrestling game and I named my character after Mark "Mad Dog" Madsen. He was still in college back then.

Yeah this guy is impossible to dislike. Like everyone else has said, I hope he can return as an assistant sometime down the road. Or like the head male cheerleader or maybe even he could be the next crunch?
