Wake up Utah....
Portland just got better... Denver was already better.... what is Utah doing? The FO is so focused on moving Boozer to save money they are blind to the fact we might be only the 3rd best team in the division. When they move Booz for nothing it will cement them as being 3rd best. They better hope they are still good enough to be 6th 7th or 8th overall in the west.

They are so focused on moving Boozer to save money? Don't you mean we are? The FO seems focused on trading him for value.

So true. If they were just looking to save money, he would've been gone weeks ago.

That's pretty much what I said in another thread....I wonder what they feel the missing piece(s) is/are to the Jazz being real contenders

Re: Wake up Utah....
Well fellows, lets think of last year, they barely made the playoffs after losing a few at the end, however in the Western Conference they were still within.... what? 1 maybe 2 games out of 6th and about 5 games out of the second seed. And they had the most injuries to their starting five in the entire NBA. If they Jazz had the injury time they had of the Lakers they would have been 2 seed for sure maybe even top seed in the Western Conference.
Now my Point! KEEPIN BOOZER!!! AND YES THIS will make them better than last year!!!!!! All they need to do is keep the same team together and not have a nightmare season on the injury side and they will make a run for the title. I hate this garabage about "compared to last year" because that is what it is, garbage. It doesn't compare! If the Jazz had home court advantage the first two playoff series I would bet ten to one they would have made it the WC finals easily.
I think they would also love to have 12 million come of the books next year in cap space.

I think the Bull's have the best offer. Tyrus Thomas? 4th overall pick. Utah wants a rotational player. He's it.

What do you think about this deal:
Utah Trades: Boozer/Korver
Miami Trades: Haslem/Cook/Wright/James Jones/Pick
Memphis receives: Wright
Utah receives: Haslem(Who think would fit perfectly with you guys), Cook(your future starting SG)-James Jones(He has a buyout of 2 million if it doesn't work)...Utah also saves money and gains a pick.

I like Thomas better than all of that.
Is this thread really in response to the Miller signing?
Would trading Boozer for Miami's garbage satisfy you?

Re: Wake up Utah....
Bulls get Booz, Korver, and cash and/or draft considerations from Houston
Rockets get AK, Tyrus and Harpring
Jazz get Deng, TMac and Scola
a lil farfetched, but we get to dump AKs hideous contract, get a starting 3 in Deng better than anything we have, and have the most hard working power forward duo in the league. Bulls get what they want, and Houston gets AK who they want for some reason, and they get to dump TMac. TMac is 22mil off the books in 2010 which will help our finances loads, and when he comes back from injury I think he'll try and earn a new deal somewhere by playing hard. He doesnt even have to start, I mean Deron-Brewer-Deng-Millsap-Okur is a starting 5 I can live with.

Re: Wake up Utah....
What else can they do? You guys keep calling for them to improve but how is trading for Thomas or Beasley or Haslem or any other garbage offers we've received going to improve us? I think most of the fans need to wake up and realize they are doing what is best for the team and they will do anything and everything possible to put the best possible team out there.

This statement is NOT true.... they will their best to put a quality team on the floor within the budget that keeps the franchise afloat. Your statement would be true if Bill Gates was our owner. The budget is the main thing Utah's FO has to work around. Miller doesn't have the cash to "do anything and everything possible".

Are we not going to pay the luxury tax with this team? What else can you ask from them? Small market, small business and money compared to other teams in the league and yet they have said they are willing to pay the luxury tax if it comes to that. So yes my statement of them doing anything and everything possible still applies since they are doing everything and anything possible within their limitations. I don't understand what everyone expects from them...

WTF are you smoking? Jazz will pay nearly $100M for this team as it currently stands.
Criticize their moves all you want, but it's ridiculous to make the claim they're not willing to spend money.

Here's an opinion that if Portland had been willing to participate in the Hinrich/Thomas/Boozer trade, it would have already been done. If Memphis had been willing to take Wright from Miami, the Haslem deal for Boozer would already be done too. The problem is the involvement of a third team in a Boozer trade. That's my thinking and I'm sticking to it.

If you would have originally said what you said in the quote above I would have left you alone. That said you didn't and now you've changed you tune. Thanks for clarifying that the Millers/Jazz have limitations. No longer making your original contradicting statement that the FO is doing "everything and anything possible" which was not entirely true.

Have they spent the money yet!!!! NO! They will move some salary to reduce debt because they CANT spend 100M this season on players alone. The damn teams only makes $119M a year(see the forbe article below) and that was before the full effects of our **** economy has taken effect. Once you add in opperating costs and the fact the Millers have some other businesses strained by the economy, the fact remains they cant spend 100M on players (and they have YET to write one check for those moneys due). Im going to guess that you arent willing to spend an additional $10 for any seat in the Delta Center (AKA Enviro-Care/Energy Solutions/The Dump) That's evident by the season ticket deals the Jazz have been running ever since Malone and Stockton left (buy one seat get one half off)! Business 101 - Salt Lake Community High School (SLCC) could have taught you that!

I just figured you were smart enough to realize every team in the NBA has limitations...guess not since I had to spell it out to you.
You have yet to make a good case as to what the Jazz should be doing differently then what they are already doing. Seriously will you never be pleased? Your making assumptions about the Miller group and about what they are willing or not willing to do even though they have come out and said exactly what they can or can't do.

Dont be mad cause you got called on something and had to eat your words. If you want my thoughts you can read old posts. I dont want to drag on this post into a thesis on what Utah should have done different this off season. As for making assumptions are we all doing that? If you believe everything written the the Mo-News, or the Trib about what the Miller group can be ASSUMED as writers opinions more then fact. Remember unless you are Greg Miller then none of us know what he and the Miller Group is willing to do. What I can do is ASSUME using history, logic and fact my opinion that the FO has screwed up this year. But I will eat my words if Utah keeps this payroll for the entire 2009-10 year. But we both know that WONT happen!
