Trade Idea : Big Baby + Whoever for Outlaw + Bayless?

Post#1 » by FakeScreenName123 » Fri Jul 24, 2009 11:47 pm

Random thoughts on why:

Portland,

Wasnt Portland mentioned wanting Big Baby? I could be wrong.

Wouldn't trading outlaw fix the logjam the blazers have at wing?

Bayless's name was dangled by the Blazers, i believe. He is now 3rd on the pg depth chart with the signing of Andre Miller.

As for the celtics,

Outlaw would be a nice big wing at backup for the team. I think his contract is pretty cheap. Great 7th man off the bench. Could be the perfect backup for Peirce and Size up Lebron better than anyone else on our team.

Bayless could be a nice spark plug point guard behind Rondo. What a duo that would be at point if Bayless was consistant.

Maybe the celtics throw a pick. I dunno, seems to make sense to me.

I like Outlaw and Bayless could be a Ben Gordon type player if he puts it together.

I'm probably the only one, but I'd rather have Webster. He has more Potential and is a sniper from downtown. I saw a Portland game once where he scored like 25 points in a quarter. He could be the eventual replacement for Ray. His contract is a few years longer though.

yeah i pretty much prefer webster over outlaw. webster is a good 3pt shooter, too bad he got injure or he couldve avg like 16/6 this season

Baby for Outlaw is a fair deal but not with Bayless included.

This, and we don't have the assets to get them to include Bayless in the deal. I'd be very content with a Baby for Outlaw swap, and I think we brought it up during the year/playoffs and Blazers fans seemed to be interested in it too. Outlaw would pretty much get the backup 4th wing and backup 4th big minutes, similar to Posey, and has all the athletic potential to be taught how to play real defense by this team.

Webster would be the ideal backup 3 and a very good player to have going forward, but I'm not sure where his trade value would be after missing last year and I'm not so sure I'd want to bank on a guy who's more of a starter (Outlaw knows his role off the bench) and who missed all of last year to sit on our pine. Also, it's clear Portland wants to move Outlaw out of all of their 3s.

outlaw can defintely be our spark off the bench. he is a fairly decent 3pt shooter. adding him will add athetlicism and length to our depth. id say we go after him :D
