J.BAYLESS
According to realgm. the Portand Trailblazers are hot to sign A.Miller therefor they are exploring trading J.Bayless now here is a guy i wanted the KINGS to get badly last year in the draft .
I think he would be a GREAT fit for us what do you guys think & what would we offer for him keep in mind they wont want a pointguard if there intent is to sign Miller ?
I would offer something like GARCIA & a 2nd round pick
or
D.GREEN & a 1st round protected pick
thoughts

Re: J.BAYLESS
Garcia wouldn't really help them, they don't need to be taking on salary (not to say Garcia isn't worth it, but he's getting 5.4 to Bayless' rookie contract).
I'd give Greene +, but I don't know about a 1st rounder of any sort.

Re: J.BAYLESS
Bayless is a combo guard. I can't see him having a mentality of a pure point guard. He may be a good backup for either Evans or Martin. Bayless was given few minutes on that stack Portland team. I think Bayless can materialize to something very good. I'm not sure what Portland would like from us. (They have said they need a backup big for LaMarcus fwiw)

I think Greene has more potential. If Udrih was being moved in the deal then yes.

Not with Evans here. I think we need to see if Evans can truly play PG.

Too late at this point. Evans is the guy.

Re: J.BAYLESS
Bayless was my #2 guy during last year's draft, and I almost cried when portland traded for him and we took thompson, but we don't have the scraps to trade away in order to get him.
I would love to take him on if we didn't lose a vital piece of the puzzle, but he would just cost too much in value. Plus we're going to suck this upcoming year and there are some solid PG in the top of next year's draft.

Yeah, I'd love to have him, I think he will be great. A 3 way rotation of Evans/Martin/Bayless would be frickin sick. I don't think it matters if he is a pure point guard or not. If he can bring us punch of the bench like BJax has done for us. Sign me up.
But as others said, we don't really have anything to give for him. The pieces we have we need to keep, baring a steal of a trade. The only way a trade might forseeably happen would be a multi-team deal, with us taking on cap space, and then getting bayless in return. Odds of that are minimal tho.

Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Re: J.BAYLESS
I think the Blazers are looking more for cap room than anything else, to potentially nab Miller AND perhaps Odom/Lee....
If we offered up our cap space for Bayless + Outlaw or Webster...this could provide PDX with enough cap(roughly 14-15 million) to sign TWO impact bargain guys this summer.
Bayless and Webster/Outlaw
for
2nd round pick next year + TPE

Reports are that the Blazers have agreed to terms with Andre Miller, so Bayless might be able to be had

Re: J.BAYLESS
I don't exactly know how much we could give up for him, but I would LOVE to have this dude on our team... he would have that Bobby Jackson off the bench role, and maybe even more than that. He is a very good player in the making, but I just don't know what we COULD give up for him.... not too much, but it won't be extremely cheap either, and with Andre Miller almost on board, he could be available for cheaper than he usually might have been

There is NO WAY portland is just going to give up Bayless for cap space. They would only give him up if they got a solid prospect in return. If you brought Bayless and Outlaw for a 2nd rounder to the portland boards, they would laugh you off the internet.

I don't think we have much of anything they would want.
Our assets don't really match up well with what might tempt them. I would think their main interest would be 1st round draft picks since their roster is already pretty overloaded. 1sts are too valuable for us to give up right now. I don't think they want yet another project, like Donte Greene. Maybe they would want Cisco as a guy who can backup multiple positions or something? That is the only thing I can think of that we might be willing to give up that they might value.
Anyway, I like Bayless as well. I just don't see it happening.

That's because your mind isn't as spectacular as mine.
