Who would you prefer Joe Smith, Gooden, Hakim Warrick?

Joe Smith
I love Joe's professionalism along with his desire, however if you look at his number when given quality time, he was barely adequate at best. I think we over rate him and his abilities, which isn't hard to do if you compare are previous options, no names please.

Forward Comparisons
Scoring Rebounds Assists

Smith 6.6
League Average 9.5
League Leader 28.4

Drew Gooden
is an option, but we know what we get with him. Some nights he could be mistaken for a mid to upper tier Forward, and another nights well enough said. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be oppose to brining him back, but buyers beware.

Scoring Rebounds Assists

Gooden 9.8
League Average 9.5
League Leader 28.4

Hakim Warrick

Me personally I think he is the best option. He plays an avg of 2 quarters a night, and his numbers are above league avg for forwards, with considerably less minutes. Don't get me wrong, this isn't like acquiring Lamar Odem, or CV, but giving maybe 28 mins a game, he could definitely be a productive big with shot blocking potential. Along with double double potential on a nightly bases. He would also be an insurance policy, if one of the two young guns can't cut it Hickson, D-Jack

Is Hakim unrestricted? How can we get him without giving up much because I dont see him signing for the BAE? If he does and he isnt restricted I am all for it. I think he would be a great stretch forward. His avgs are high because he can hit the 3 compared to the other two.

Actually his 3pt percentages and attempts are nil. I guess it was just in NBA Live.lol. But he does have range.

I'd take Joe Smith over Gooden and Warrick any day of the week. You can't just look at the stats and make a comparison.. He was clearly one of most productive players for us coming off the bench, although I don't understand why our coach didn't play him much in the Magic series. Better yet, LeBron said Smith is one of the best teammates he has ever had.

Yup. Joe Smith, like Varejao is a guy who makes winning basketball plays, doesn't show up in the box score.

Warrick is OK but he has no 3pt range (21%) and he is like 220lbs, he would get pushed around the block as a starting PF.

I would be fine with Smith or Gooden for the BAE. For this team Smith might be better.

Memphis withdraws QO to Warrick!! Man I don't know what we have left, but I would love to get him. I just don't know how much Joe has left in the tank, {he looked exacerbated during the play-offs} I'm not advocating starting Warrick, I just think he would be excellent coming off the bench, over the unknowns

Warrick might space the floor for shaq, better than varejao, atleast.

Warrick seems like the best option. Joe would be my choice, but he's old and even older now, and we need some youth on this team. Warrick, if he can be had for someone we don't need or signed out right, seems like a great starter beside Shaq for around 26 mins a game. He'd be happy in that, and we'd be happy with him in that too. Like someone said, he can spread the floor with his 14 footer, go inside a bit, isn't terrible on defense, and is a good complementary player. Done if he can be had cheap, he would be great on this team.

I thought Joe was getting a multi year offer from Atlanta. I wouldnt think we would touch a contract like that for him.

Joe Smith didnt play in the ORL series because he is too thin to guard Dwight and too slow to guard Rashard. Regardless, I would take him back from one more year.

I would take Warrick because of age, length and athleticism with amounts to a decent defensive player. Can't go wrong with Joe Smith though. Gooden is weaksauce, i don't like his game.

Hmm that is pretty damn impressive.

Can you imagine LBJ/Moon/Warrick/Shaq all throwing down dunks? Would be ridiculous.

I'm on board with Warrick.

That's exactly what I'm talking about!! Put him on a title contender. {hopefully the cavs} and their is know telling how well he would develop. This is what we are hoping, Hickson can develop into.
Perfect fit for this squad, he would be so hyped to be playing next to LBJ & the WITNESS PROTECTION PLAN {I barrowed that} he would clearly be an upgrade over anything we ever had at PF since Boozer. Wait it gets better he is only 27, man are interior "D" would be sick. Nice work N23!! I'm rolling with you, let the crusade begin. He also has a decent mid-range game

I am actually now pissed that we used basically the rest of our MLE on Moon. Warrick would like awesome here. I think he gets a decent contract somewhere else.........lets hope THE KING can convince him to join.

I wonder if the BAE would be enough to get Warrick here. Probably not. Funny that Warrick fills a greater need than Moon who we overpaid for based on production. It seems like the only good contract given out this summer by the Cavs is to Anthony Parker based on what he has done. I am a little surprised at the direction of this off-season. We are certainly better, but there are a lot of guys we are hoping are better instead of basing their ability on production.

I was coming to this forum to make a thread on Warrick but I saw this so here it goes.

At his age and the state of the Cavs needing to add some youth for the future also to have something around Lebron if he stays I think Warrick would be a awesome player to have on the team.He can come off the bench and be a high energy player for the Cavs.
