David Lee for Carlos Boozer

Post#1 » by finnegan » Sat Jul 25, 2009 5:29 pm

I kinda like it myself, but I would hope that Lee isn't signed for the same contract amount as Boozer.

Seems like Lee should be signed for the same amount as Milsap. So maybe NY could include another $3-$4 mill in cap space as part of the deal.

Doesn't make sense for us, Lee isn't on the same level as Boozer (he's much closer to Millsap's level), so why would we be making NY better?

The Jazz send Boozer to the one team in the league that they want to win the least? And there are Jazz fans out there who actually like this??

This is just getting desperate and pathetic. I'm glad KOC has the minerals to be patient and do what's best for the team without the influence of the media and the fans.

Could be totaly wrong on this one, but it seems that the Jazz could have Lee and Milsap on the floor at the same time, and Lee's offense >> Kirelinko, plus Lee is a gritty defender.

I've always liked Lee, so I do not consider this an act of desperation. However; as I mentioned earlier, the Jazz SHOULD NOT trade for Lee at Boozer's pay grade.

even if it means getting rid of boozer, the jazz should not make any deals with ny this year. there are 28 other teams jazz should do business with before the knicks.

This trade would make no sense. Jazz are better off just keeping Boozer for one year.

Johnson, you're absolutely right. In fact, I'm surprised I didn't use the words "championship team".

Makes no sense to get Lee now that Jazz made mistake to match Millsap. Jazz should have let Millsap go and then did this trade which would have saved them luxury tax.

If Jazz now do this sign and trade, it shows how desparate Jazz are to get rid of Boozer and what little value Boozer has out there in the trade market.

Im telling you guys, Boozer has little value in the trade market because of his past problems and every GM knows he is over-rated and the worst Defensive forward in the league.

Trade makes sense for Knicks, they might lose Lee anyway. By getting Boozer, they stay competitive for one year then let him leave then go free agent crazy next summer. Believe me, Knicks rather have Lee over Boozer but dont want to invest in Lee long and prefer Boozers one year deal.

Jazz need to trade loozer but David Lee makes no sense since they kept over-paid Millsap.

No keep NY in the cellar where they belong. Let's all hope the Nix have the worst record in the league next season.

Any trade with the Knicks are worth twice the skill level of Boozer because the Jzz would be given up a top draft pick too. The knicks don't have that much talent on there whole team combined! :D
Will never happen! Just another stupid rumor.

Boozer quality = Without/barely making the playoffs and a first round playoff exit
With/ Western Conference finals
Go ReAL!

calm down how much truth to the detroit rumors? houston? chicago? miami? And whoever said lee is a gritty defender, no he is not, he is a poor ass defender like boozer can't block either like boozer, seems to be a poor mans boozer might be equal to him or better at rebounding but less offensively gifted. Plus we would be in the same boat as we are now, he thinks he is worth more then he is.

I'm sure I'll get blasted here, but I like this idea.
If we can get Lee to sign for a similar contract to what Millsap got, I'd do it.
We would have the PF position pretty solid for the next few years, with young talent.
Sap and Lee would have to battle it out for minutes, but I think they complement each other as far as style goes. It gives us options at that position.
If a contract like that can be made to work, we basically get 2 good, young and talented players for what Boozer wants on his own.
I also don't believe Boozer would make NY a playoff team, and to be perfectly honest, I'd rather get a good player now, there is no way to predict what that pick will be either way.
Bottom line is I'm tired of all the Boozer drama and think we need to distance ourselves from the situation if possible. I like the trade. Make it happen KOC.

I'd only trade him there if we rape them, make sure their pick still sucks. Nate+Lee+cash should do it, as long as both of them accept contracts that they're worth. Nate like 4/5mil and Lee 6/7mil

other than that screw NY, I'd much prefer Deng/Beasley

How could you like this if your a Jazz fan? What are you going to do with Lee? Play Paul at the 4 and Lee at the 3? Split time? No this trade is horrible it makes 0 sense for the Jazz.

Yeah, I really don't get this either. With this trade, our frontcourt is Okur ( $9 mil, likable and clutch from 3 but a little slow and soft), Millsap ( $14 mil this year, gritty but undersized), AK ( $14 this year as versatile as any player in the league but a little fragile and painfully thin) and Lee ( likely $8-9 mil, tough but not the quickest afoot either...).

So, we're spending $45 million on a frontcourt that have superior size or play lock-down D? Huh?

And in the process probably extending range of the NY pick from top 7 to top 12?

Umm millsap isn't 14 million per nor is AK's.

Millsap is 10 and ak is the much migher 17.

If you want a solid system pf that will rebound, set screens, and pop 15 footers real well, Haslem is the man. A much better fit for the Jazz than David Lee.
