I think you are now just making fun of all this people (90% of this board) who were all "oh my God we have to re-sign Sessions because he is bargain for MLE and if not then I am done with Hammond"

And yes it is funny

Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious/an already discussed point; but is there a chance that Session's agent/other teams are/were waiting for Milwaukee to make another move to the roster that would make it hard to match an offer sheet?

Would be sweet if the market so dried out to the point we get Sessions for 5 years at $15M total. $3M average across the board. Something like Elliot Perry deal. Wishful thinking here.

'Why not see if a deal can be done with Milwaukee now and put an end to it?'

I know why not.

Because I'm dead.

Somewhere in the last few days I died. I am now in Hell to pay for sins I don't even remember committing. Is that fair? Well, OK there was that one, and I remember a LOT about her. Maybe it is fair.

So Hell's punishment is to spend eternity reading Real GM • Bucks. And for NOTHING EVER to happen! An infinity of speculation; never a game played; never any news.

Repent! Ye who still have time...

Stay away from that woman. Even though she wants you. Even though if True Love was just animal lust between two hungry bodies it would be a match made and celebrated in Heaven.

I have to go back to reading now. The glint is gone from my eye. Eternity begins.

One man's blabber is another man's amusement.

It was a complaint about this long period of nothing happening, twisted into a modern day mock fable. Sorta like Lisa (in the Simpsons) blowing a riff on her sax and getting kicked out of band practice.

I will regain my sanity when something happens. Or perhaps when I see the new Harry Potter film tomorrow night.

Carry on, good people.

I'm with Chuk on this one. The time between the end of the NBA Finals and the beginning of NFL preseason is a time I call The Great Sadness, when I'm forced to try and care about baseball.

I'm with uncle chuck on this one. either get it done or move on.

the problem with holding out on sessions, is that all these other deals the bucks plan on making may no longer be in the offering. the longer the Bucks wait to sign Sessions, the less likely they will be able to trade bowen and ridnour. because every team will have already found their back-up point guard and won't want or need ridnour. Portland surely doesn't need ridnour. I doubt the knicks do either. the clippers don't need ridnour. this great plan of signing Sessions at a super reduced rate and then trading ridnour will only work if you get the first part done now. if the Bucks keep putting it off to get the best possible salary deal, Sessions may opt for Europe, and they still may be unable to unload ridnour and bowen.

While the Los Angeles Clippers are no longer pursuing Allen Iverson(notes), they remain interested in Milwaukee Bucks restricted free-agent guard Ramon Sessions(notes), league sources said.

The Clippers are believed to be willing to give Sessions an offer sheet that begins in the $4 million to $4.5 million range. It’s unclear whether that would be enough to dissuade the Bucks from matching.

From Hoopsworld:
linkage: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=13424

The Clippers And Sessions: The Clippers continue their pursuit of Ramon Sessions, however it seems his camp is unwilling to commit to anything in L.A. as long as the Clippers have two point guards on the roster. It seems Ramon was comfortable playing with Baron Davis, but the idea of competing with Davis and Sebastian Telfair is too much. If the Clippers want Sessions they may have to move Telfair, whom they recently acquired in a multi-player deal with Minnesota.

Most of this is likely moot, as Milwaukee sources say they are likely to match any offers around the median exception, so unless the Clippers and Bucks reach a sign-and-trade deal it does not seem that the Clippers have any shot at Sessions, and it does not seem Sessions has much interest in the Clippers as constructed.

IN RELATED: Blazer fans continue to ask why the Blazers have not engaged in talks with Ramon Sessions? According to sources the Blazers did make contact with Sessions, but ultimately decided he did not fit their team dynamic well enough to spend $30 million on. There is little doubt that Sessions is a heck of a playmaker, but the Blazers feel they have better options that fit their system on the team now and any expenditures would have to be improvements or upgrades and apparently Sessions was not viewed as either, mostly because of style of play.

I thought the snippet on the Blazers was interesting, as we speculated for a long time on Portlands interest in Ramon.

Considering that probably isn't a five-year offer either, that is as no brainer as it gets to match.

The Knicks are expected to re-sign Nate Robinson to a one-year deal. If they do that, I would imagine that takes them out of the Sessions derby. Unless they plan on trading Duhon (and I haven't seen any reports indicating they are), they have their PGs for next season with Robinson and Duhon.

Looks as if they agree that Nate is better for their system than Ramon. Nate also represents another guy that's just as good if not better than Ramon with a cheaper asking price. These GM's aren't fools. They won't pay mle prices for backup caliber talent. The compromise is short term deals. 1 to 3 years at close to mle dollars.

Or perhaps they think it's in their best interests to pay a one-year deal for a PG as opposed to longer given how their entire plan is to have as much money as possible set aside to attract major free agents in 2010.
