Garret Siler invited to Wolves Veteran's camp

I got invited to the Hawks veterans camp, so that'll be either late August or early September. And I also got invited to Minnesota's veterans camp. That's basically the camp right before you make the roster so that's like the last camp. And Charlotte wants to invite me to their mini-term camp so I just have to figure out where I want to be and then from there, it's just kind of of working out in between then.

Yes, he did, but if David Kahn is worried about Nikola Pekovic being earth bound...Garrett Siler is on a whole different level of earth bound. I understand that the expectations for Siler are obviously different, but I'm really not worried about getting him in. He was fine in summer league and all, I just don't see him making much of an impact at the NBA level.

Sky is the limit for him and from what i saw, he could be pretty solid, just hope he can get up and down the court for +20 minutes

I doubt Siler sees more than 15 or so minutes per game.

I love it when a D2 guy can make some noise.

His body weight and speed/quickness/explosiveness/conditioning is the limit for him, and I really don't see him getting those kind of minutes unless those factors seriously improve. I know he has apparently lost serious weight already this off-season (something like 30 pounds even before SL), so who knows how much more lift he will have if he continues to whip himself into shape, but he's just too slow, earth-bound and poorly conditioned at the moment.

He does have great length, the strength of an ox and pretty good hands, so he's definitely got tools to work with, it's just difficult to predict what kind of quickness and explosiveness he'll have when/if he gets himself into good physical condition. He could POTENTIALLY have a meaningful NBA career with good conditioning, but it's far from being a given.

It's looking more and more likely with the trade of Etan Thomas, though.

I think we're in a good position to give him a shot for the minimum. If he keeps improving his body, and pays close attention to Jefferson and Love, he could be a decent backup. We would just need him to give us a decent 18-20 minutes a game.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

We will see. Reading that he sounds more interested in the Hawks camp. He may not even go to the Minnesota one.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. If he made the team, he'd be playing 2 hours from where he played college ball and led his team to the D2 Title Game two years ago. I wouldn't really expect him to come here actually, but I hope he does.

He'd probably get more playing time in ATL and would have a better chance of making the team. there are like 3 guys who look like they are over 6'8" and one of them is Joe Johnson. I could see the wolves going for a more vet big to play behind Al/Love
