Pick a new team name for the Devil Rays

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Tue May 1, 2007 2:04 am

Since the Devil Rays need to submit a team name on May 31st let's go make up some team names for them.

Obviously The Tampa Bay Rays may be their team name but let's get more creative.

3. Cubans (close enough to Miami)
4. 'Canes

I don't know what was wrong with Tampa Bay Tarpons. Who wouldn't want to be a tarpon?

tampon would be very fitting. it makes sense metaphorically. theyre trying to symbolize with the name change that theyre stopping the bleeding. take into consideration the alliteration and i think you got a winner.

i vote tampa bay tampons

Tampa Bay "Trade me! Oh God, trade me!"
Tampa Bay Lightning (might confuse people and raise attendance)

Because Potential has become the trademark of that team for the past few years.

Tampa Bay Fire connected to Lightening as that team is believe to get their name from "sticks of fire" which may refer to the lightning strikes that Tampa Bay receives which happens to be alot.
