the lsu fans have some weird fascination with being ranked ahead of usc. if they actually were capable of logical thought, they'd know it doesn't matter. who cares if you go into the title game as #1 or #2 as long as you go? all that changes is the color of the jerseys.

i'm not saying that lsu and usc are going to play for the national title, just that they're both in position to control their title game destiny and their ranking relative to each other is currently meaningless. the only other team that can sort of make the control their own destiny claim is my cal bears (because we're 3rd and play #1.5 usc) but i wouldn't be shocked to see cal screwed by the voters again.

Ohio State keeps improving every week offensively, and if they can run the table they absolutely belong in the national title game if LSU or the Cal/USC winner isn't undefeated. That Buckeyes defense is every bit as fast as anyone, and they know how to make plays. Now that they've figured out how to block up the middle, the offense is humming along.

What will be interesting is if the Cincy-USF winner goes unbeaten too. Then I don't think there's any way a 1-loss PAC-10 or SEC Champ plays for the title.

Because LSU is a better team, yet people still want to crown USC.

Just like how they seem to think they have a stake to our championship....

No other school would get the benefit of being "co-champion" only they spoiled ass Trojans.
