That's 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-COUNT 'EM-20 PLAYERS, and 16 fully guaranteed contracts. But the presence of the first 18 players didn't stop the acquisitions of the latter two players, both of who made the team.

In the end, the Rockets waived Reed, Sura, Lucas, Harris and Butler, paying them a combined $5,473,000 to not play for them that year.

Sham, some/many/all of those waived players left the league soon after (Sura w/his full $3.8 million, most of that amount you cite, as you knew), if not before they'd hung around long enough to get their paychecks. Scola's rights came with Butler for Spanoulis, as you also know. I'm also certian Harris played for them that year. EDIT: so he signed with them in July and later in the season.
Now I remember...

Part of my question was interested in some of this, especially the "dead man walking" syndrome that strikes a roster under such circumstances (the Howard trade that brought in some of tose players was clearly something other than an on-court move, for example, right when it went down).

Moot for further discussion on this here, but thanks for sharing some of your work.

I find it interesting that any self-professed Warrior fan would choose to call himself by the name of one of the meanest, most disliked owners in the NBA, a man reviled by sports fans throughout the Bay Area. What does this say about his self-image? It's as if what FGump refers to as his "confrontational attitude" mirrors the man whose name he has taken. Not only has he assumed Cohan's name, but his style as well.

We recently had a another poster on this board who chose to call himself Robert Rowell, the scumbag President of the Warriors. It's weird. There's some strange self-loathing going on up there in one of the most beautiful cities in America.

Chris Cohan the poster recently got a name change from ROWELL. Anyways, check his sig and you'll see that he's on something like a crusade. Or don't, it's all pretty demented.
