Granger Team USA update

Post#1 » by Miller4ever » Mon Jul 27, 2009 9:13 am

Danny Granger: Was expected to attend camp and watch from the sidelines due to an injury, but a personal situation forced him to cancel at the last minute. His absence was excused, but his equity certainly did not rise.

From an article on ESPN (requires Insider).

I'm not too happy with this news. Basically, he did nothing and didn't even show up, which is doesn't bode well for his chances in 2010. Hopefully with a full recovery from injuries and a strong season, he'll be invited to camp.

Fine with me...I'd rather he be healthy for the Pacers come the regular season.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

ditto... Team USA will be fine without Danny, but the same cannot be said about the pacers if he got hurt or worsened his knee over the summer

Danny's gotta do what he's gotta do to get ready for next the season. I'd like to see him on the next Olympic team though.

too much basketball... These Athletes need a rest, it's called the off season, you go at 50% 75% work on your footwork, mechanics, and other skills. You work with coaches in the weight room. A body breaks down if you keep on it.

I'd rather see Danny resting and playing 82 in a blue and gold jersey, than see Danny pushing and playing 1 in a red white and blue jersey.

The man is our franchise player...I would rather him be healthy for the Pacers.

I'm not happy that he didn't get to play with them but at the same time i'm fine with it because i'd rather have our franchise player for years to come be healthy than to risk his knee and possibly be out for the whole 2009/2010 season.. that would really blow..

I'm fine with it because i'd also rather he be healthy for us than play at all. However, it would be a great learning experience for him and make him a better player/leader.
