I think Favors goes in the top 3.
Look at what happened in this year's draft... early buzz had Rubio going No. 1 or 2. Then he gradually started slipping.
Who went 1 and 2 overall? Bigs.

Raef LaFrentz was on his way to being really good before injuries derailed his career. An awesome defensive player (average 2+ bpg for four straight seasons) who could stroke the 3 and was a decent rebounder and passer.
Chris Kaman just averaged 18 and 12 with 2.5 bpg a couple years ago. Had the Clippers not **** with him so much he could be an All-Star caliber guy right now. As is, he's still very good when healthy.
Kevin Love is looking pretty good already, could easily be an All Star type within the next few years, and he has only his rookie year under his belt.
Brook Lopez has star written all over him, but even if he doesn't become a star he is looking like a surefire above average starter.
Andrew Bogut is a really good player.
How long do I need to continue...? And that's just players taken in the last 10 years, I don't need to dig into the previous decade to make the case.
Unless your criteria for "excellent" is "the exact quality of player that is slightly better than every big white guy taken in the draft over the past 20 years".
I would love to draft a guy with that pick that is as good as any of the above players when they were healthy and at their best.

I have a question: How did the Jazz get the Knicks' unprotected pick? What was the transaction (or transactions) that brought this gem to you?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Utah receives New York's 2010 first-round pick (unproteced) (Tom Gugliotta trade) via Phoenix (Marbury trade). Phoenix receives a 2005 New York Knicks first-round pick. (Marbury trade).
February 19, 2004
Jazz acquire Gugliotta
Gugliotta
Salt Lake City – Utah Jazz Vice President of Basketball Operations, Kevin O’Connor, announced today that the team has acquired forward Tom Gugliotta, two conditional first-round draft picks, a 2005 second-round draft pick and an undisclosed sum of cash in exchange for forward Keon Clark and forward Ben Handlogten.
IIRC Gugliotta was basically a salary dump by Phoenix. The Knicks pick was a little less protected each year, being unconditional in 2010.

Well that's something. This is one of those combination clever/lucky breaks that can make one franchise and break another. I hope Utah gets the first pick.
