OT: Okafor for Chandler?

I don't see how this makes sense for either team. The Hornets are shedding payroll, so they try to pick up a big man who just signed an extension a short time ago? The Bobcats are giving up a solid rebounder and scorer who doesn't seem to have many health problems, for a big man who had a trade rescinded because of his health?

You're absolutely right, that doesn't make any sense at all...Bobcats would lose out big time talent wise, Hornets money wise.

I personally love Okafor ... if the Bobcats wanted crap for him, we could have given them crap.

Reason why????? MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$ Where is Cash?

Suns do not want to bring in almost 60 mil on a player when they dont know what they are going to do with amare, JRich, etc.

all I have to say is just another brilliant move by MJ!

Exactly. This trade means 3 things.

1. Bobcats were looking for cap relief for Okafor, which we could have offered. We could have had Okafor.

2. At the very least a 3 way trade could have been worked out for the Wallace contract.

3. Steve Kerr is the ultimate idot and Robert Sarver is a greedy bastard who doesn't give a damn about the Suns.

You want to pay Okafor the $60 million he is owed over the next five years? No thanks.

Madness. Okafor's a NICE piece for NOR. On par as a rebounder, better shotblocker and a better scorer...

Sigh. Another lower seeded West team gets better...Hey at least we got Channing Frye

You won't be in a position to win many games when you owe that kind of money to a mediocre center. Oh armchair gm's, how shortsighted.

Okafor is not mediocre. He's definitely one of the elite and he's still young. I don't see how that's not a good move.

Mediocre as in averaging 13/10/1.7 in one of the slowest offense in league ? :D Dude will be average nearly 17/11/2 with good D. in our offense with Nash running the show.

Many people here think J-Rich's salary is too much. Rich can average over 20 points per game in our system and shoot 40% from three. You want to pay even more to Okafor, a guy who has missed 80 games since 04-05 and is labeled as soft? Basically, in adding Okafor you would be choosing him over Amare, you can't keep both moneywise. It isn't a fantasy league team.

We had both Stoudemire and O'Neal on the payroll at the same time.... and O'Neal cost twice as much as Okafor.

I REALLY like what Emeka brings to the table. I had no freakin' clue he was even on the table.

In fact, I would have thought he was untouchable.... damn....

Yes....we had Shaq and Amare....Amare is due for an extension...we had to trade Shaq because you can't have the 5th highest payroll and not be a contender...

Return to Phoenix Suns
