We're NOT THAT BAD. It's now proven Cha is looking to shed salary, and guys like Wallace have become available all of a sudden. We can be used to facilitate a 3 way now to land us a center and defensive guard (BELL ) using Pavlovic's contract. Trades that would land a team like Portland it's missing piece in Wallace, have Bell coming to us, and Travis + Pavlovic going back to CHA make sense, and they could now be pondered. Who here wouldn't love having Bell back for 15-18mins a game starting and pushing Barbosa to play 30minutes off the bench? Of course, it would mean we have to dump Richardson, some how.

Yeah wonder if they would trade Bell back? If their that desperate for salary savings I'm sure they would love Pavlovic's contract. Remember Bell wanted to be traded because of Porter and after he was gone he said chances are he would have never been traded so I can see him wanting to come back possibly since Gentry is coach and the Suns are back to SSOL...

lilfishi22 wrote:Nash is my favourite player, but as much as I wanted to see him end his career here, I had hoped he be moved to a real contender. He'll get his ring to back up his individual accolades and maybe we'll get some nice assets back and rebuild properly. Now it just feels like we're in one of those relationships where you're together for the sake of being together. Neither sides really benefits, but we're together.

But Simmons was right, if Nash left, I don't think there's one fan who would blame for not bringing back a championship. If anything it's our FO and owners fault for not managing our roster and finances the right way. Nash had a way out and it's a shame he didn't take the opportunity.

The odds are definitely against us, but I'll keep my hopes up.

My feelings as well. Part of me is happy he's staying so we're not horrendous; but the other part of me is pissed off at him for deciding to stay with this crappy team instead of going to a winner.

nash accepting this extension makes no sense... i don't see why he would do it. he admitted today that he knows the suns aren't contenders and he's fine with that. if u heard the audio of his press conference he doesn't sound too excited about staying. he says that he just wants to play to have fun basically. he's coming to the end of his career. why wouldn't he pursue a championship with a contender?

since the suns are committing 100% to going back to SS0L with gentry, you know nash's stats will go up... increasing his trade value. there's a certain point guard in portland that just got signed to a nearly identical deal that nash has and i think that nash will be moved there b4 the deadline.

no way nash agrees to an extension knowing he's not winning a championship the last few years of his career. i'm almost certain that they agreed upon trading nash to a contender. portland wouldn't want to rent nash for a year... thats why he agreed to this contract.

idk lol slap me if u think i'm stupid lol

--- Actually, he made quite a point of saying that he felt committed to the guys here on the roster and that it was a special situation.
That said, I really expected him to go to Toronto

I really don't get the brain-dead second-guessing Nash's desire to stay with the Suns. It's called integrity folks. He believes in HIS team, not bailing out to go be with a winner. It's called strength, strength to do what he felt was right over what would be easy, and it's called fortitude, fortitude to see through something that he started. This is his team, and win or lose it is his. He has responsibility and ownership. Some of you "I have to have it now" folks should pay attention. Nash is teaching everyone out there that it's really more about how you comport yourself than about the ring on your finger. Substance over style. That is a quality to be absolutely admired, and to doubt his desire to win is absolutely asinine. Just go back and take a look at some of his past playoff performances, or what he brings to the table every night he is on the floor. Effort has never been lacking, so this is despicable. Nash shows the world the meaning of loyalty, and you turn around, stab him in the back and question him for sticking with you. Some people cannot be pleased.

All of that and I also think we have made commitments about who we may target next year in free agency to try to build the team back up for another run in the 2 years of his extension. Also, as Simmons says, we may be in the playoffs and be the scrappy guy who surprises. I would like to add a few pieces to pay Nash back for his loyalty to the organization.
