Min/Bos/Ind

Post#1 » by cutthecrap » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:13 pm

It has been mentioned in numerous places that Boston is attempting to get Daniels in a S&T deal with Indiana...but they need a 3rd team to enter the fray...

Any interest in the T-Wolves sending Wilkins or Gomes to the Pacers in return for a combo of T.Allen, B.Walker and/or draft picks?

Maybe even take a run at Hibbert???

I'd be very happy to get a hold of Hibbert to be our 3rd big.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

How about Atkins instead to save someone money and getting us back an asset for doing so?

I wouldn't be too excited about getting Hibbert. Sure he's big and can block some shots, but he's even slower and less athletic than the guys that we already have.

Tony Allen if you could snag him and he was healthy would start for you guys at SG. I'm a Celtics fan and a Wolves fan and this would make me happy. He also gets along great with Jefferson and would provide the slashing, defense and athletic ability they have needed for sometime.

I personally could see him put up 15 PPG, 5 RPG, 3 APG, 2 SPG on very efficient shot attempts as he gets to the line a ton with his only weaknesses being turnovers and a lack of three point range.

I'd think the Pacers would gladly flip Allen for Atkins contract and simply take the savings.

A 22 year old, legit 7'1 Center that showed major improvements just about every year of college that can block shots, rebound, score inside, high IQ and is a really good passer down low. I would say the positives outweigh the negatives.

Tony Allen can't play defense. He has the reputation that he can, but unfortunately nope.

I like me some Dr. Hibbert.

I've talked to several Celtics fans that have all said the same thing about Allen. At one point he was an athletic monster who played hard nosed (not lock down) defense who could get to the basket, but was always his own worst enemy with poor decisions and as many turnover's off his own foot as dunks. They said the injury was worse for him mentally more than it was physically. 15/5/3 is absurd. I'd be happy for him if he could manage to get 10-15 MPG anywhere.

Would i take a chance on him? Sure, he is young and he is an expiring, but if im the Wolves FO im not targeting Allen, just taking him as a throw in.

just a thought/dream:

KG for Jefferson + Cardinal with some salaries to match to get Daniels to BOS

KG and Jeff are both coming off of injuries to the knee, so both are risks. both teams have complimentary front court players to help them thrive so why not

Jefferson would thrive with Sheed/Perkins playing help defense and playing the C allowing him to play PF full time and make up for his so-so defense. he also gives the celtics some much much needed youth. Perkins/Jefferson could play together and be effective for the better part of the next decade.

Love would be so much more effective with KG being able to defend the high post and block shots weak side and allow him to just focus on passing/rebounding/effort and allow him to be able to make some mistakes with someone capable of correcting them before they result in easy buckets. and he gives us some much much needed vet help in the big man department. Love couldn't get a much better teacher than KG. Garnett got his ring, nothing left to prove, time to finish his career where it started.

I'm going to assume that you realize why this isn't feasible, but KG finishing his career in Minnesota is a nice thought.

I like the Hibbert thought.

He could really be a great help for our team in the future.

I'd be all over Hibbert, but Indiana wouldn't

for me the interest is minimal; but if we could send Songalia out, then I'm definitely interested.

Something like
Ind Sign and Trade Daniels for Gomes
MN Gomes, Songalia for Scally, Allen
Bos Scally, allen for Songalia, Daniels

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
