Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
Oh I also forgot to mention, the MOST ridiculous thing he said in this interview is that everyone is going through hard financial times, EVEN HIM! Are you kidding me? You ride the pine for half of the season and then have the audacity to complain about getting paid 12m? Even if you get taxed for half, you still get 6m! Talk about being on another planet. Sap made under 800k last season and he never once complained about hard financial times. What a head case Boozer becomes when money is on the line...

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Red, you still defending the Loozer after all he's said the last couple of days, not going to sign with the Jazz and that he had a good individual performance in the playoffs while his teammates fell short.
Whatta Loozer!
Carlos, the Loozer, Boozer ... we need to make the nickname stick because it is so fitting.
Just as it was Karl, the Mailman, Malone
The Loozer against the Mailman, I wish we could've seen that head-to-head.

He still pays state taxes to Utah. His place of employment is here, his wages are paid here, he still has to pay the taxes for here. If the Heat become his employer, he won't have those taxes taken out. He could live in Timbuktu, he's still going to pay Utah taxes while he is a member of this team.

Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
I think Boozer is a dick and not a particularly honest human being. But that should come as no suprise considering the way we got him. I don't believe that thinking he's a dick somehow makes me a less intelligent class of Jazzfan. I hope he goes before the season and I hope we get some value in return. After that he'll just be another of the many NBA players I don't like.

I think this is how it works: if he plays in Miami he won't have to pay state income taxes for the 41 games in Miami plus the 2 in Orlando and the 3 in Texas. However he would have to file returns for each of the other states where he plays.
More info here: http://www.reallifedebt.com/of-nba-play ... -4676.html
Sounds like a pain in the ass, but I'm guessing he can afford to pay a CPA to do it for him.

I hsven't seen Boozer say that, I'd have to see a transcript....... If he in fact did say that, he's a moron, but it doesn't change anything about him exercising his option in the contract.......
I'm not arguing that he's a wonderful human being, I'm just saying there's no difference between the business decision he or Millsap made.......

Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
He didn't say it exactly like that, but when the guy asked him if he is going to start the season as a Jazz man, he says "um, no." The Jazz have still not officially confirmed that a trade is in the works. They continue to give the idea that they fully expect him to fulfill his contract and play this season... Somebody is lying, and Boozer has done plenty of it already in his career, I trust the Jazz much more than him.

"I had knee surgery last year, came back and fully recovered, had a really good individual playoff run, but my team fell short as we lost to the Lakers,"
this is the part that really bothers me. "he" had a really good "individual" playoff run, but his "Team" fell short.
what a load of ****. i hope dwill saw/heard this. if booz does return as a jazz man, i would love to see dwill strangle boozers touches.

Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
Just think it as it is:
- Millsap was a RFA
- Jazz told Millsap's camp to set his real market value
- Millsap's camp set his real market value (offer sheet from Portland)
- Jazz matched Millsap's real market value
- Boozer publicly said he was opting out to get his raise regardless
- Boozer opted in
- By opting in Boozer stated "I'm opting to play next season with the Jazz" (that's the substance of the whole thing - the money is adjective - he could have opted out and get a multiyear contract for 11M per year without trying hard IMHO)
- Boozer starts his "trade me" and "um, no" and "I was very good at playoffs but my team falls short" tour AFTER OPTING IN
I don't get why there's people failing to understand the difference.

Fans and the sports talk guys are blowing this way out of proportion. Boozer did have a nice playoff series, and his team did fall short.
I don't condone what he's doing but I see nothing wrong with this quote.

Yeap... you might be right...
That's what happens when someone piss people off big time... every sentence is taken in the worst possible manner...
I really don't have a problem with Boozer attitude about playing for the best money; he's certainly not the only one athlete to do it; matter of fact most of them probably do the same.
My problem is with him deciding that right now the best money was in opting in with the Utah Jazz, only to start his own fire sale and disgusting worship for other teams then...

Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
Technically, Boozer was a major reason that the Jazz even had to play the Lakers in the first round, so I don't buy into that BS. Show me a healthy season, then you can brag about how you played better thant he team.
Here is a nice quote from him today out of a chicago radio interview...
"Waddle: "If, in fact, you do go back and you are a member of the Utah Jazz next year, you anticipate being able to do your thing there without any hard feelings?"
Boozer: "No. Not at all.""
Interpret that however you wish, he isn't very clear with his words in a lot of interviews, but to me that means he doesn't think he can play for the Jazz without hard feelings. Anyone else get that vibe?

CtC man. It's not as if the franchise has ever lost money - no, not a single season. The Jazz made several hundred mil.s of profit so far, for your information. If ever Greg decided to sell the team, he'd easily have some more hundred mil.s. So taking a loan for 10mil... who cares.
The definition of "true fan" in Utah is really interesting. LHMiller family was very happy with the Jazz being small market underdogs long as he sold many, many tickets. He did NOT invest enough in the team for a championship. Now the Millers take a loan... Tsk... So sad for them.
A true fan would give a piece of his mind to the front office for the good of the team instead of showing blind devotion.
Are you guys really happy with frequent playoff appearences and some long-gone, distant lost finals?
even beethoven had his critics. name three of them.

No, I'm not satisfied, that's why I've called for Jerry Sloan to be fired for a long time....... Blind devotion is bad, no matter who you're devoted to........

Okay, I get that you're no Boozer advocate, and if you were- fine... Either way, it just doesn't make sense to me to equate unlike actions- this is a thread regarding Boozer's bizarre free agent tour as a player not only under contract, but one who JUST CHOSE TO FULFILL ITS TERMS. Were you to equate Millsap signing Portland's offer sheet with Boozer's opting in as personally motivated business decisions, great. Beyond that, using Millsap as an example to justify Boozer's awkward media wooing is simply groundless... wether or not one condones his behavior.
I'm curious to hear other arguments supporting the opinion Boozer has not acted inappropriately. Recent examples of other players doing something similar, lack of language prohibiting tampering from a player's perspective in the CBA, etc. I'm not worked up at all about Boozer, but he is making himself look a little foolish and definitely is not increasing his trade value.
BTW- he's backing off a lot of his comments now that Jazz management have had a little talk with him and/or his agent:

Millsap signing with Portland made the best decision as far as Millsap's best interests were concerned......
Boozer opting to remain with the Jazz made the best decision as far as Boozer's best interests were concerned.......
I don't see how people can't connect the dots....... I'm not saying Millsap did anything inappropriate...... But neither did Boozer, and I actually do believe him that the Jazz told him they want to trade him, there's just too much corroborating evidence from other news sources that they have been shopping him.......

Re: The Loozer Speaks Again!!!!
Right, the connection between their respective contractual choices makes sense, which is what I said... if anyone is upset about Boozer opting in, they should realize he was simply making a sound business decision. One's opinion regarding his behavior since opting-in, however, can be drawn solely on its own merits with no connection to that choice.
Boozer opts to play out the final year of his contract for $12M- fine.
Boozer subsequently goes on a tour of his favorite NBA destinations to tout the value of his services while clearly stating he will not be playing another game for the Jazz- odd.
Is it possible the Jazz told Boozer what he said they did? Yes, but just as was the case in Cleveland, we'll never really know the the details of what was said behind closed doors. And even if they had told him they were looking for a trade, his media tour is at best a little strange, and likely plain stupid because it doesn't help anyone get what they want.

I'm sure the Jazz said something to Boozer, but even if they didn't, when they signed Millsap that confirmed their intentions.
