OT:Mike Vick
Would yall be opposed to the texans picking him up? let me first say im a cowboys fan mainly but i do live in houston so i gotta show them some love but anyway i think the dude could put the texans on another level and honestly by the end of this season i think shaub will have played himself out of a starting job in houston........ but wat would actually be interesting bout this would be if houston took a chance on somebody after something bad happens when it seems all houston franchises have done the exact opposite in not standing behind there players for example..... Julio Lugo, Calvin Murphy, Eddy Griffin, and im sure theres more i aint thinkin of but i dont know i just think its a chance that if taken nothing negative can happen... worst case senario he doesnt work out and gets cut.... and this is in no way defending wat he's done but dude already suffered enough for that loosing 2 years and if you think the penalty wasnt harsh enough well it was tried in court thru the justice system and you cant blame Vick for recieving a shorter sentence then u expected but anyway wat yall think?

Re: OT:Mike Vick
Vick, I think, is one of those guys that may be too much of a risk for a lot of teams. Too much bad PR.
I don't really follow football (and haven't since the Oilers left), but if I were a Texans fan I'd be pissed if they signed him.

Same here. I think the guy's been screwed over, but that doesn't mean I want him on my team.

They released a guy as soon as he got a DUI. No way they get Vick.

Absolutely not.
I supported his re-instatement, and I'm not even opposed to signing him if he were a good fit, but he's not. Shaub, despite a couple of cheap shots, has shown that he has the tools to be a top-level QB. He was firing on all cylindars by the end of the season, and I am predicting that he'll be an upper-level NFL QB this season with the weapons and offensive system he has.
Vick is (was) an absolute freak of an athlete, but I never thought much of him as a quarterback. Roddy White didn't just magically get better his first season out from under Vick. I actually prefer the two backup QB's we have over taking a risk on Vick as a starter.
Vick needs to go to a team that will feature the wildcat-style offense. He could make the biggest splash in a system like that, therefore that's where he needs to go. Honestly, I think that he'd be a great fit in Baltimore running special teams, RB/WR combo with the occassional QB play to keep the defense honest. We're just not the right system for him if he wants to really make an impact.
Oh - and everyone come check out our RealGM Texans forum! Sure, the traffic right now flows about as fast as the Southwest freeway in rush hour, but football season is coming! time to start talking some football!
