I'm assuming in the Chalmers trade.

We lost out on talent in a couple of these trades, but guys like Craig Smith, Sebastian Telfair, or Etan Thomas weren't in the long term plan, and outside the value of their expiring contracts didn't have the capacity to bring in players who would be in the long term plan. These are 7-9 guys at best, they can and should be sacrificed if it leads to bringing in an impact player.

so you dont think ethan thomas holds more value in trade talks than say wilkins or atkins ???
im starting to understand the smith trade cause it was 3 for 1 and if we were to ever trade for a star we wouldnt have to let go of a intire roster to get him

Like andyhop said Thomas's value is mainly in his expiring contract. Atkins would have more value in a trade because his contract isn't guaranteed. Of course there's also the more likely possibility that we wait until next offseason before making an aquisition, which makes the difference between Atkins/Wilkins and Thomas completely negligible since they'll have already come off the books.

I thought those picks were the 2 picks we got this year.

That says both our 2nds this year were from the Chalmers trade...did we get 3 second rounders in the deal?

that site is wrong, their protections for our utah and charlotte picks are wrong too.
we got both of the 2nds in the chalmers deal already (norel and nick calathes (traded to dallas).
the owed picks page on realgm is much more accurate.

There's the link.

I has credits: Utah pick, Charlotte pick, 2010 Hou 2nd rounder (I believe from the Gerald Green for Kirk Snyder deal, right?)

Debits: 1st rounder to LAC, 2010 2nd rounder to PHI top 55 protected

so the Houston pick and our own 2nd rounder go to OKC next year as we obviously won't have picks 56-60 in the 2nd.

they haven't updated with the draft night deal where we got the lesser of portland/chicago's 2010 2nd for nick calathes. We will send OKC our own 2nd and the lesser of houston or portland/chicago.
