How Good Can Danny Green Be For Us?

Post#1 » by infinite11285 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:51 pm

The least talked about Cavalier, perhaps the most underrated, is Danny Green. Simply put, how good can this guy be for us (this year)? Do you guys believe he will see time in the playoffs? If so, who does he beat for that spot?

Will Mike Brown play him is another question.

That is the question. I am on the Green bandwagon. I loved his production as the year went on for North Carolina. He does all the little things when UNC needed it. He was overlooked because of Hansbrough, Lawson, and Ellington, but I am more impressed by how he was able to raise his game when needed.

I predict he will be the Courtney Lee of last year IF Mike Brown gives him the chance. I don't think the Cavs have done a good job getting their younger guys the minutes to develop. It seems to easy for them to get into Brown's dog house and impossible to get out. I disagree with this Larry Brown strategy that Mike Brown is using.

If he can prove himself like Boobie did in his rookie year, then yes he will see minutes during the regular season and the playoffs.

Brown did the same thing with Kinsey this year as well. Kid started to play well, then Brown sat him. For who?? Sacha? Boobie?

Brown will be on the hot seat this year

I think it is a given that Mike Brown does that to any young player. He's done it to Hickson, D-Block, Kinsey, Sasha, and Shannon Brown a couple years ago.. Even with Boobie last season. The list goes on. Kinsey and DJ were in the starting lineup for a while but didn't play at all when West and Wallace were healthy again. Fact is, if a player played well for one game, give them some time the next to see if they can prove that they can contribute.

BROWN SEEMS TO NEVER PLAY HIS YOUNG GUYS LIKE KINSEY/JJ/JACKSON SO UNFORTUNALY GREEN MIGHT BE ON THE BENCH ALL SEASON

Danny Green's absolute ceiling is a Shane Battier-esque career.

He's gonna carve out a niche as a good perimeter defender and a knockdown shooter. That's his ceiling. He won't get much time this year, we have wings a lot better than him ready to compete.

Seems a lot like Calbert Chaney to me.

I can't see him getting playing time in the playoffs. I think adding Moon and Parker squashed that. He's essentially sliding into Kinsey's slot. As loaded as this team is that's going to mean some decent 4th quarter minutes in the regular season and all bench in the playoffs.
