You said you want to improve your posting. You can start with your stance on Miller. My goodness.

I won't budge. He averaged a pitiful 6.5 APG. I don't want a chucker as a PG.
Andre Miller is A.I without the attitude.

His APG were down because of the lack of good shooters on the team. You can't have an assist unless the other players can score.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
I understand the pessimism, but this team could be better. The only point below that I somewhat question is #5.
Why?
1- the young core will be 1 year older. Each of the young players should take at least 1 step forward. I expect notable advancement from Young an Williams. Both will thrive in the Princeton.
2- the Princeton. This team needs to be better in the half-court. This should be a perfect match.
3- Iguodala will not be the PG, but he will be a big distributor.
4- Brand will have a big impact on the glass and in the half-court offense.
5- Dalembert will be better. Jordan will utilize him properly.
6- the bench. Smith, Speights, Holiday, Green, Kapono and yet signed FA's will create some quality depth.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Even if all of those things come to fruition, I think best case scenario we're a 45 win team. Personally, I see us between 35-40 wins next year. I still think we need to sign a veteran point guard to mentor Lou and Holiday and be able to step in and control tempo at times. I'd also feel better if we acquired another knock down shooter from outside. Kapono was a good addition, but I still think we need another. Someone like Watson or Wafer would help.

Dedicated, good post.
I think many on the board lack the capacity to totally grasp your inscrutable logic:
[quote] "I won't budge. He averaged a pitiful 6.5 APG. I don't want a chucker as a PG.
Andre Miller is A.I without the attitude."
[quote] "Is Lou Williams? We saw a glimpse of it in April(6 APG) which is solid numbers for me."
They probably think you mean 6.5 is pitiful and 6 is solid.
They could even mistakenly believe that you sometimes go beyond just disingenuous. For example, there were fifteen games in April and Lou had six assists in only one of them. In the other fourteen he averaged 2.2 (3 for the whole year).
I must admit though that I was a little confused when I learned that Andre is only 115 assists from being among the top twenty five NBA all time assist leaders. Since five within range are retired, health permitting he should soon be in the top twenty.

Thank you, ChuckS
Miller is a terrible pg. For crying out loud, there are 27 players in the history of the game who were able to dish out more assists. Just terrible.

An isolation PG is an Isolation PG. And Andre Miller is an Isolation PG. And is not the FIT to win a title.
He's never even won a First Round Playoff Series.
Will Lou/Jrue lead us to the next level? We're about to find out.
But to say we can't win 42-44 games with those guys? Nah. I'll bet my life on it.
Stefanski made a tough decision to see what these kids can do at the next level, because this is the best Miller can do.

He definitely would of been a nice pickup, but we don't have the expirings.

For once I actually agree with you. I have always like Belineli and think he would have a role on our team.
youngcrev wrote:He definitely would of been a nice pickup, but we don't have the expirings
Why would we need an expiring? Belineli makes virtually nothing and if they are looking to cut salary next year they can just let him walk since they have a team option on him that they don't have to pickup. I don't see how George will get any time in GS with all the other SG/SF's they have.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
^^^ I agree. I was frustrated at first, but we would've had to give up something of value(Smith/Speights may have been the asking price) if we tried. This goes to show how much value expirings have.
W. Green could probably get us a somewhat productive young player like Belinelli next year if a team is desperate enough. Devean George is absolutely useless so this trade puzzles me, and Golden State doesn't seem to be in trouble with the luxury tax.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Andre Miller might not have averaged a lot of assists, but he might averaged more assists as a % of the team's total. Players's stats look better playing for Nelson or D'antoni, but they don't carry as much value as a player putting up the same sats in different systems.
I made a "Fantasy prediction" thread a little while ago. If some really thinks Ed missed a signing or the Sixers will win 45 games they should ost it in that thread so we can look back on it next offseason. Some people are so emphatic with their predictions, but they don;t want to put them in an official thread.
Time seperates everything in the universe. Right now the Sixers don't have assets that other teams what, that the Sixers to give up (i.e. young players). As time passes another offseason will be here and the Sixers will have some very nice assets. A team that does not have any good assets this year or next year might have them two years from now. Every team experiencees times like this, but things will get better. I guess time is the intermediary between elation and despair. One day things will be good, good things come to those who wait.

it doesnt all stars and end with expirings
if you are a GM and you know that GS want to trade Belinelli for nothing , you find a way to do it!!!
thats why you are the GM , to make this kind of deals happen, thats why you make so much money, this all that you need to do.
you find ways, you get creative, you do something

You don't know that he didn't. Maybe he called them and tried 10 different offers and they turned them all down.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
all i know is that even if he tried he couldent do it
and that could happen once in a while,i understand that
but when it happens every time thats strange
to me a GM that cant trade Miller, cant trade Dalembert, cant trade Green, cant trade nothing for Belinelli...thats mind boggeling
that to me is a GM who doesnt know how to do his job, from all the different situations and different offers for all this players , he couldent find even one deal that could be done?
if thats true then he is a bad GM who is way over his head
and if he lie about all this deasl that are not possible then thats even worse...

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
This is a frustrating position we're in, but your position on Stefanski is way premature.
Dalembert & Green are absolutely awful. Everyone knows this. If they're traded, it's more than likely going to happen next season. If we trade them this year, we'll end up with crap.
Belinelli likely would have cost us something we wouldn't want to give.
Miller could have been traded, but it looks like we' want to "save" money. Any Miller deal would have brought us back contracts that run past 2010 since Miller was an expiring. We obviously didn't want to go that route.
It's still too early to label Stefanski a bad GM. For all we know, he may have something in the works that hasn't been expressed to us. He's made a few nifty moves, so that at least shows that he knows how to work a deal to get what he wants. Look at the Korver, Carney, and Evans trades. Whether you agree with them or not, they all made sense at the time and Stefanski was able to land his target in Brand.
His lack of activity and our current roster certainly is puzzling this offseason. However, I believe 2011 is his judgement year. If he fails to make us a better team, we're screwed, and maybe so is he. We're gonna have to sit through a possibly miserable and letdown season.
We'll have a better idea of how good our young guys are. If Young/Williams/Smith don't improve this year, they should definitely be dealt for more fitting pieces. Holiday/Speights may need a little more time to develop. If Brand plays well this year we need to either (A) surround him with talent by forging some of our young assets and attempt to compete for a title or (B) get rid of him for cap space, young players.
Just give him some time, and you'll know if he's actually as bad as you think he is.

when he resigned Cheeks and fired him 3 months later i understood how bad he is, but i did gave him time up until this summer
and now he proves again how bad he is.
can someone name a GM who came into a team , sign or resign a coach and fire him 3 months later , i belive stefanski was the first and probebly the last
