I want Tarence Kinsey in a Clippers uniform!

Post#1 » by DerickG » Thu Jul 30, 2009 9:12 am

The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived guard Tarence Kinsey, the team announced today.

Kinsey originally signed with the team as a free agent on August 1st, 2008. He played in 50 games (three starts) during the 2008-09 season with averages of 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per game. In his three starts, Kinsey averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 1.0 steal in 25.6 minutes per game. During the 2009 NBA Playoffs, he saw action in nine games and averaged 0.4 points in 1.2 minutes per game.

Clippers should sign him. He'd be very cheap and a quality back up to Al Thornton. I love Craig Smith. I would like him to start at SF if he can gain some speed.

I would take a flyer on him. He's an underrated defender.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in.

I want Ai to agree to come off the bench but that will never happen.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Craig Smith is way too slow to play SF. He is built like a truck and should be playing down low.

Craig Smith can play SF. He is a big man, but if he could lose 10lbs he would be good at SF. Al Thornton is too inconsistent. We need a back up for him. I could see Kaman/Camby, Griffin, Smith, Gordon,Davis on the court at the same time.

I'm a Cavs fan and Kinsey is probably worth a look. He didn't get many minutes last year but seemed to be a good slasher and defender in the limited minutes he did get. He had a few starts in the middle of the season and did ok. Our coach prefers to put shooters out there with LeBron so Kinsey wasn't a great fit but he's a good clubhouse guy that could fit into most rotations. He badly sprained his ankle so lost alot of time. His ballhandling is not great but he's still young and worth a flier.

I'm still waiting on us to sign someone. We need to improve our perimeter D and Kinsey may be able to help.

I'd prefer a player a little more capable of playing bigger minutes than Kinsey, although I have to admit I don't know too much about the kid. If the Clippers want to bring back a good perimeter defender on the cheap, might as well bring back Acker.

You're absolutely right.
Though, the guy we should give this job to isn't Kinsey, it's Ime Udoka. :D

have you guys NOT seen how big C. Smith is? Guys is huge, he not going to play SF just keep him where he is, could big body that will bang down low. Also why would you guys want another G when you just waived one in Mike Taylor, is this Kinsey fellow that much better than taylor?
