Best scorer this decade

Well, no one scored more points in college basketball this decade than Tyler Hansbrough. But I'd probably go with Kevin Durant, Adam Morrison or Stephen Curry.

I don't understand Durant.

Beasley averaged more PPG in 4 less minutes per game, while playing the same competition.

Beasley dropped 40-20 on Kansas (the national champions) that year.

I like Durant more than Beasley. That said, if Durant had the better talent around him shouldn't he have been the more efficient scorer?

Durant's team was far better than Beasley's, that's the difference. Beasley always put up numbers but his team was still only mediocre.

Steph Curry was unparallelled in the ncaa tournament though. Everyone knew what was coming. Knew his game, yet he still went off every time and pulled Davidson to the brink of the final 4 against the eventual national champs.

Carmelo Anthony has to be up there. His season numbers were not quite as good as Durant or Beasley, but by the time the tournament came around he was a better scorer then both of them.

Carmelo's 34 against Texas in the final four was a thing of beauty.

Well it isn't Beasleys fault that his team was mediocre. If you place Beasley on a team like Texas with Abrams, Augustine, James, etc. obviously he's going to take that team far as well.

Well, Beasley did decide to go to Kansas State knowing he wouldn't have much of a supporting cast there other than Bill Walker and he'd be able to shoot all he wanted. I'm pretty sure Texas or Carolina or Kansas would've welcomed him with open arms.

In terms of nothing but NCAA scoring, it's pretty hard to argue with what Curry did. Unbelievable scorer during the regular season for his 3 seasons in the NCAA, and an even better scorer in his 2 trips to the tournament. Entire defenses were focused on pretty much nothing but stopping Curry, and they couldn't do it. In his 07/08 March Madness trip he averaged 32 ppg (!!!), and absolutely carried a TERRIBLE TEAM to the elite 8, losing to the eventual champs (Kansas) by only 2 points. Beasley and Durant were choke artists in the tournament compared to Curry, and Curry outscored them in the regular season as well (his 28.6 PPG in 33.7 MPG put's Durant's 25.3 PPG in 39.0 MPG to shame, and is a bit better than Beasley's 26.2 PPG in 31.5 MPG). Not saying it'll translate to the NBA (obviously guys with SG game but PG size often struggle in the NBA), but I think Curry is the best NCAA scorer of this decade, pretty easily. His efficiency is great as well, despite having 2 or 3 defenders draped all over him (his FG% is good but not great, but he shoots roughly .400 from 3 every year despite taking roughly 10 3PA/G, so he's had great true shooting percentages of 62%, 64% and 60% in his 3 NCAA seasons).

If i remember correctly he wanted K-State to release him from his letter of intent (or something to that extent when the previous K-State coach left) and leave to go to Memphis. That team would have been ridiculous with Rose and Beasley.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not. Jason Richards is a PG who can't score, can't defend, and can't even break down a defense. He only racked up assists because he passed to Curry.

DURANT, he did it ALL! he knocked down jumpshots scored from the post with finesse and strong. The name of the thread is best scorer not most efficient. Watching Durant destroy defenses on his way of choosing inside out or outside in was amazing. Watching curry fire 3's was cool but we all knew what we were going to see, He's the best shooter/ most efficient probably. Beasely out muscled opponents or was just to athletic for guys to handle, he may not have had the 40-20 game against Kansas if Julian Wright had not opted for NBA tho . Durants had superior offensive skill over every player in the nation that yr

When it mattered, Melo was the best freshmen scorer this decade. Not even close. Durant had MORE talent on his team, and took his team that was also a three seed..... to the round of 32, where he had a brutal game..

Melo scored 22.2 ppg on 45.3% from the field.

Beasley scored 26.2 ppg on 53.2% from the field
Durant scored 25.8 ppg on 47.3% from the field.

Both Beasley and Durant were more efficient and scored more per game.
