For cap purposes, minimum player salaries only count or the 2-year minimum amount. I thought about using the actual minimum in the Year columns, but since it didn't seem to add any information. But I'm more than open to suggestions about why to use those figures.

Oh, so anything above the 2 year min does not count towards cap and tax? So, about a half mil of Thomas' pay is not taxable?

If you are a three year or more veteran, and you sign a one year minimum salary contract, only the amount for a two year veteran is billed to your team's salary cap. The league pays the rest. It's a mechanism brought in so that teams won't be discouraged from signing veterans in favour of younger, cheaper players.

Ah, okay. So tht is why Ross counts fully and Thomas does not. In ttrades, however, Thomas' full contract is whaat counts, right? (A'm not talking about the min player exception, I'm talking about th 125% rule).
