2009-2010 Possible Champs

Boston vs Lakers #1 TV Ratings
Orlando vs Lakers
Cleveland vs Lakers #2 TV Ratings
Boston vs San Antonio This could be pretty high ratings
Orlando vs San Antonio
Cleveland vs San Antonio

I know from watching the Celtics yell Beat LA that all I want to see is the First. To me
this is what the NBA is about. I will remember the LA vs Boston Series of the 80's. Assuming all teams
remain healthy this is the best series

Homecourt will be Imperative against Boston.

Lakers just got better this Season not worse.

Ariza is a up and coming player but Artest will give Kobe rest. This will be the difference.
Artest will keep the Defense's Honest.

Artest will lock on Pierce. Even Battle but Pierce is older and I think Ron will get 3 or more good games at the end of the season on an older PP.

Kobe will lock Allen. Allen defends Kobe well. Kobe wins

Gasol vs KG KG wins however KG is much older and the end of the Season could wear on his shot. Will he still have the same jumper he did a year ago. Gasol has more legs on the offense. KG has the D.

Rondo vs Brown/Fisher Rondo Edges

Odom vs Sheed - In a 7 games Series Odom wins but more like. Sheed will need help as he is much older

Bynum vs Perkins Not as vital but could turn out

Hope all is healthy after some tough conference finals this will be the dream match up
that legends are made of.

This is what the Nba is about this kinda of Rivalry that happened.
Lakers vs Boston I wait year to year hoping to see the next 3 years of this Rivalry continue.

The difference from 07/08 finals will be Artest

Whew you're getting way way ahead of your self you know that right ? Topics like these get the board dumped on, laughed at and clowned weekly. Ask the Spur fans they had up the same thing and got ragged on relentlessly.

Can we just get to the preseason first ?

Meh I don't know what the big deal is about with all these replies. Who gives a rats ass what other fans/trolls think what is posted here.

This was something that I also thought would be a possibility since the Lakers are favorites in the West.

If any of you trolls read this, do us all a favor and go screw yourselves.

Having said that, I want the Lakers-Celtics Finals no question. We be aight.

Even though it was a Wizards fan that made the claim by opening the thread.

99% of the Spurs fans in that thread said that we like our chances but have a long way to go to be champions.

Well Boston or Cavs would be awesome. We can't count out the Magic because they added alot to but I would love to beat Shaq and Lebron in 1 series. I don't like the Celtics, don't get me wrong but it would give me much more satisfaction to beat Shaq and Lebron. This is probably our last chance to do that with Shaq to and Lebron lets get as many wins on him with Kobe and Artest while we can.

although i may agree with u on some of the predictions and probably many others will as well. Having it out this early may show some disrespect to the other teams and fans on the board.

Although celtics, spurs, cavs, orlando...etc.. have balked up a bit.. it still doesn't mean they'll reach that far. There are just too many variables that can cause a dream team into a train wreck... Injuries, bad chemistry, disgruntle player...etc.. I guess we'll just have to wait and see and let it play out and enjoy watching the competition hehe.

You're getting way ahead of yourself, and you completely left denver out of the mix. the nuggets are legitimate contenders...right behind the Lakers. i would even put them ahead of the spurs. To say san antonio would have high ratings in the finals; that sounds like delusional spurs fan talk to me. Any finals involving the spurs would have the worst ratings. it only gets worse with every appearance they make. No knock against them; they definitely deserve their rings. it's just that san antonio doesn't have the STAR power to draw the biggest audience. sure they have star players, but they don't have anyone like Kobe, KG, LBJ, Birdman (Melo is a better player, but birdman is their rockstar).

Absolutely possible to repeat with the stacked team the Lakers have...but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Draft, trades, and signings only put teams in position to be successful. Still the whole season is ahead of us and will the Lakers be hungry enough to repeat? Bynum's health, Artest' attitude, and Fisher's age are all questions that will be answered but you gotta like your chances if you are a laker fan.

Anything can happen sure.
But this is what I like to see. Boston vs LA

Denver is pretty good but with Artest to lock Melo I don't see them being
better than last year. Yes they could be better than the Spurs but this year
will show if they peak like MN did when they lost to the Lakers or will
they have resilience. Chancey is great but not getting younger.

Boston Lakers rematch last year with both teams healthy would have been a great matchup. We would have had the chance to get even and this year we would have been all thinking about killing two birds with one stone. (Shaq and Lebron on the Cavs) But since that can't happen most fans including myself would love more han any other match up to see Lakers - Celtics rematch.

See to me I can see the excuse already if we play the C's. Age. With Lebron he might cry and I would love to see that and Shaq might retire or this could be his last healthy year. I hear he wants a 2 year deal but I think this could be it bball wise. Either one would be good.

The Magic do have a really good starting 5, Howard-Bass-Lewis-Carter-Nelson is scary. They could be a spoiler.

Fisrt of all Brah............ You got it twisted.

It was 99% of the Spurs fans claiming that you guys have the West LOCKED and here is one of the posters that loves to backpedel everytime.
Yours truly SApuro.....

See what I mean.
Before we singed Lamar, you were running around this board claiming the Spurs winning the West is a LOCK............ and now your posting this. Shouldnt your team be more concern about what you posted more than us. I mean lets be honest here, your core players are either in their late 20s or their early 30s.

Also Im with Deep on this one, its very arrogant of O.P to post this thread since a lot can happen in a season, lets not jump the gun and get happy like some certain Spurs fan or any fan in general counting our chickens before the eggs are hatched........ Lets not.

Yeah they do have to stay healthy. Everybody is so stacked that if were not healthy were in trouble and trades do happen. With that said if you assume everybody's healthy I can't see us being beat.

Nah, I think it's you that's a little confused, "brah".

Check it out: http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=923773

That's the original thread in question, started by a Wizards fan.

Here's a sample of some of the responses:

DBMethos wrote:I wish I had your optimism. I think we're still 1 quality big man away from being contenders.

Nolan wrote:I hope your right. But I feel the same as DBMethos we need one more big man to truley become a legit contender again.

bishopospurs wrote:There still will be roster moves happening before the season starts, as of right now we need a few pieces though. Once we get two or three more players, maybe even turn bonner/finley into another player we will be good to go

Blame Rasho wrote:I would love to believe so... but we have much to prove on the court.

co laper wrote:But with Odom around, I'll bet my money on Lakers winning the series too.

There's not a single post in there that says we're going to win, let alone the 99% that you falsely claim.

I say I like our chances at beating the Lakers, and I stick by it. What's wrong with having confidence in the team you support?
