^ Nice post and rebuttal chakdaddy........I think both of us kinda understand each others points. I'll admit many of the Laker deals worked in our favor but so did Celtic deals.

Yeah, you definitely make good points too - For one thing, I have always kind of been puzzled about why Parish was looked at as underachieving for Golden State. His numbers looked pretty good, although with fewer teams and higher scoring, lots of numbers are a bit inflated.

It takes savvy to make some of the moves we have made. Kareem is 1 of them. When was the last time you guys made a savvy move? If Artest was handed to us, then KG, Ray Allen, & Rasheed were handed to you guys.

Artest is kind of a different situation, since every contender grabs somebody decent for the MLE these days - but Rasheed was terrible last year and is old; Artest is a big star in his prime. Those guys usually don't settle for MLE. Payton/Malone to a lesser degree - which team was fortunate to get that combo again?

What's so savvy about trading for the best player in the league when he says he doesn't want to play in Milwaukee and wants to go to LA or NY? You load up the truck with whatever role players you can and call it a day. You could trade your whole roster for 1975 Kareem and it would still be a donation.

Took a whole lot of guts to part with Junior Bridgeman, just on the hopes that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will pan out for you...jeez

That's valid. The LA/Hollywood thing plays a part but why should we be ridiculed because of it? In Bridgeman's defense he had a pretty solid career. I know it can't compare to the Cap's but it is what it is.
