Contract was probably more than we could have afforded. Oh well. Lets focus on the SF we have (either impoving them or gettign rid of them) instead of dwelling on Mr.Potential ;)

5y/40m is too much, or more than I'm willing to spend on him. At that price he should be an impact player, and I'm not saying he won't be. The risk factor though doesn't do it for me.

5 YEARS 40 MILL!?! Okay, well I didn't realize that Atlanta even had the capspace to give him that kind of money. Now I know I have been the largest advocate to get Marvin, but the kings would have to be (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to sign him to that kind of money. I was expecting another team to offer mle and the hawks match immediately, but this was a terrible deal for the Hawks. Right now, he's just a role player, and I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually becomes a great player in this league, but the risk for that kind of money is not worth it.

So this is my official apology for creating at least 3 Marvin Williams threads, my b.

They didn't need cap space. They had his bird rights.

I don't think it's that bad, it's a little risky contract, but I still think he can be a very solid player.

KM44, I like Marvin Williams too  , but there are more important needs right now.

Return to Sacramento Kings
