***THE BEST TRADE BB S&T IDEA YET***

Post#1 » by 2tall2actsmall » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:26 am

What if we sign and traded Big Baby and fillers to the nets for Tony Battie and Keyon Dooling?
I think this trade would be perfect to finalize our team. I think Dooling and House coming off the bench would be a pretty descent tandem. Battie is a good defensive pf/c that can hit the mid range J. These guys would fit right into what we're doing over here.

So what do you guys think good or bad idea?

Shockingly Battie will make 6,2 M next year and Dooling 3.5 Million, no team wants to pay Big Baby more then the MLE ( Just over 5 million), most teams want to pay less.

Definitely not the best. Battie is past it and he hardly played for the Magic it seemed. Dooling is decent but not great.

Actually, since he's restricted nobody can pay BBD more than the MLE, and his contract only counts for 1/2 its value in a S&T. Any team taking Big Baby in a trade will be taking back more salary than they give out.(Unless they have some exemptions to use...)

Yes, Dooling is not a great player but we would be bringing him in as a back up. How do you expect us to get a "great" player as a back up for Rondo? The guy is athletic, plays defense and can penetrate at times. As far as Battie sure he's past his prime but he can still contribute, its not like he'll be taking on a huge role, jus spot minutes behind kg, kp and rw. The guy can still play defense and score if given the ball in the right position.
