haha, this thread is a breath of fresh air on this whole okafor thing. At least we're all getting some amusement out of it now.

Yeah, Mekwarrior brought the house down on Duncan!

But hey, we'll be watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3__lnOGJAA, so I'm not complaining.

Don't make me pull out all the vids of Toodles getting posturized...

Instead I'll go with this since it is a tribute:

Boris Diaw makes a pretty no look touch pass to Emeka Okafor for the jam

All shot blockers get posterized every now and again. Even Mutombo. :wavefinger:

But I was watching the youtube video with Okafor's 8 blocks against Dallas from a few years ago, and I couldn't help but think that he's lost some bounce in his step the past two seasons. IDK if it's because he's being more cautious so he doesn't get injured, or because of the ankle injury he had that year, but something's seemed different for the past two years.

Bickerstaff's last year I feel like Okafor had his best season, at least defensively. He was one point or block or something away from a triple double off of blocks.

That's the year I'm talking about, and I remember that game! It was at MSG, and if I'm not mistaken, he set a record for most blocks in a game there.

I believe he was one rebound short of the triple-double, and he would have had it, except Matt Carroll stole the rebound from him in the closing seconds of the game.

All those blocks were flat awesome. Was MJ at that game sitting on the sideline with Oakley and his posse?

Another great game was the 2nd one we played against the Bulls this season (I think) where he kept blocking Rose at the end of the game every time he got into the paint...wasn't it like 3 times? Heh...bet Rose was thinking "what CAN I do to get around this guy?".

I seem to dimly remember a game VS. chicago when Okafor was just tearing them up on the inside. I remember a lot of penetration from Felton, and passes to Okafor, and jams, of the one- and two-handed variety.

That's about as detailed as I can get.

Another game that stands out is one of our great wins of the Lakers where Felton and Okafor kept running that pick and roll. That was a devastating combo and play. Everyone bitches about Okafor sucking at the pick and roll but he seemed to do just fine on plays like that.

Who knows, maybe Chandler will end up being a Raja/Diaw like surprise and it opens things up for everyone and leads to more wins. I would happily eat crow.

Mek always seemed to show up against the Lakers, and those 20 and 20 games will be missed.

The @LAC game stands out for this season. He was possessed!!!

It will be weird seeing him in a Hornets' uniform. But that's a good question -- has Mek actually left Charlotte?

It just sucks he went to the Hornets. If he had gone to ANY other team we could cheer for him and hope he gets the recognition he deserves. Instead he went to a George Shinn squad which puts him on the other side of basketball karma.

I hope Okafor has a great season next year and I am actually looking forward to seeing him playing the playoffs.

As long as its not against us.

If he faces us in the playoffs it means we both made the finals, so not such a bad prospect really.
