I think our only chance to get him was in a trade. Now that he's been waived I see him bolting right back to San Antonio.

Bowen will be great for the Celtics. During the playoffs, all Bowen has to do is just cripple the opposing team's superstar, and it wouldn't even ruin his dirty player reputation. If he signs with the Celtics, the Celtics are the favorite for the championship.

Because of the partially guaranteed salary, I can't even understand why Milwaukee ever considered trading him. If they trade him, they get a guaranteed salary back, 4 mil or whatever. If they cut him, they save 2 mill that they wouldn't if they traded or cut him.

I'm not sure if San Antonio even wants him anymore, they have a glut at SF, I wouldn't rule him out here.

If we sign Bowen it's hard to imagine any non-celtic fans not hating this roster with a passion... even moreso if we ink Marbury.

and I love it. Ainge is one badass Mormon MFer..

Doesn't appear he'll be back in San Antonio per the wiretap.

Do not want. He is worthless considering he isn't nearly the defender he used to be.

I'd rather give Giddens the minutes. Remember the beginning of last season when everyone (KG) was healthy. Games were over after 3 quarters. I'd rather give Giddens and Walker mop up minutes than a 39 yo Bowen.

Trading him for TA and Pruitt made sense because they would have had TA for 2.5 mil instead of nothing for 2 mil. Boston's hit would have been a little larger more like 3mil with the tax so I can see why they would pass.

We really lack 3pt shooting off the bench we just added another SG who can't shoot. Wallace is a nice piece as far as adding perimeter shooting at the PF/C spot but if I can choose between playing Bruce Bowen and playing Scal at the SF spot c'mon now that is no choice at all. Adding Bowen while not a top 8 player makes it a lot easier to use the expiring contracts of TA/Scal as he would add most of what is appealing about the two players.

I like him with the Celtics, but I truly believe you could do better. I'd also like to see the minutes given to someone younger like Walker. But, Bowen's a solid talent and I can see why you would want him.

Bowen is a really really smart player for 5-10 mpg in the playoffs we he is someone clutch who can get under an oppsoing wings skin and hit the corner 3, he would be a great mentor to walker and giddens as well for the minimum I am down for it. I have no faith at all in giddons and limited faith in walker so if one of our 3 expierienced wings go down i would like to have 1 backup who knows how to play in the nba.

^^^ All true. But Doc will play him over Giddens/Walker no matter how well those guys do in practice IMHO. So you do curtail the development of those guys for a guy who has a very limited payoff at this point.

Would only want Bowen if he were a mid-season last harrah type signee (ala PJ Brown). Gives team a real chance to evaluate the young wings and, maybe more importantly, find a trade partner to trim the roster near the deadline.
Baylor is Brat.
