Lester Hudson is unsigned... But a roster spot opens up for him. He'll likely get assigned to the NBDL, if signed by Boston.
Is Hudson better than any of the guards waived today, or that are left in free agency?
Gabe Pruitt - Could be signed by another team for training camp, but beyond that is uncertain.
Salim Stoudamire - Looks like a clone of House, a shooting specialist.
Mike Taylor - Perhaps, he's another undersized combo guard like Hudson.
Sun Yue - The opportunity and the chance to succeed aren't as good as Yi.

Re: Hudson's chances of getting signed just improved
flip flops: The Celtics won't waste a roster spot on an Eddie House clone at PG. And Salim Stoudamire, despite being a shooting specialist, has a reputation for being bad in the lockerroom.
The 3rd PG will get an ACTIVE ROSTER spot (unlike Scal, Walker and probably Tony Allen, who will be Inactive since there is no harm done in making them Inactive, Danny hasn't been able to trade any of them for 3 weeks now). Must be able top PROTECT THE BALL and RUN AN OFFENSE.
Celtics will probably try to add a full sized center at minimum as well.
There probably kicking themselves for wasting all that salary and luxury tax payments on Tony Allen and Scalabrine. They can't give them away.
Tony is better than a lot of the backups in this league, that's the shame of it.

Re: Hudson's chances of getting signed just improved
That's cool with me. I think Lester Hudson will be a player. A poor man's Ray Allen, maybe. He can score like Ray, but doesn't have that kind of athleticism/quickness. If Michael Redd can make the league I don't see how Hudson doesn't have a shot. Got to do something about that lazy release though. That will get swatted by average help defenders inside the three point line in the NBA.
Edit: Forgot to say that even though I do think he's more promising than most projects we've taken on, he's going to have to work hard to be an NBA player. I just don't want to use words like "potential" and "upside" but he has a really good skill set. I think he'll be work ethic or bust.

When I think of Hudson, Ray wouldn't have been the first name to come to mind. Ray possesses a perimeter game (being a pure shooter, consistent and can shoot for average) that few NBA players today have. And combine that with Ray's penchant for making clutch shots not just with Boston, but all the teams he has played for. That's a high compliment to suggest that Hudson's a poor man's Ray Allen. So I'm not willing to say I concur with you. I mean he did get drafted in the second round. For all anyone knows, he could be another Allan Ray. Perhaps, better than him.
Vinnie Johnson is the player that I keep thinking of whenever I think of Hudson.

The only way I see Hudson getting a roster spot is if TA were moved or one of Giddens/Walker. I believe Ainge will bring in a vet PG like Lue in case of injury to Rondo. Don't know if Hudson proved enough before his injury to be counted on to make this team at this point. Maybe he goes overseas for a year and makes the team next year as House's replacement.

Hudson can make the team as a cheap inactive guy. It depends on what happens with the Daniels deal and or any BBD signing or trade. He would basically fill the role that Pruitt had for the last two years. Every team has some guys that don't play..

I'm always baffled by how underrated Scal is.
Scalabrine will not be inactive this season.
