He has a 6'11.25 wingspan. It's not amazing but not that bad. Lebron has a 7' wingspan, are you going to make fun of Lebron's length?

Wingspan isn't important. You do not get a sense of Griffin arm length with his span. He has alligator arms because his standing reach is 8'9

That sounds too low--like an inch above Joey Graham.

Sure length is important, but what about girth?

Griffin has wide shoulders and short arms, therefore his sub-standard standing reach.

With bigs the focus is more on standing a reach. A guy like Bosh plays like a guy shorter because he's got such a long neck. A guy like Dwight Howard may only be about 6-10 but his shoulders are as high as Bynum's and higher than Pau Gasol's, both guys who are about 3 inches taller than him. As a result his standing reach is around 9'4, which is right there with most 7'+ centers. Shawn Marion is another example. He's only about 6'5 but his shoulders are ridiculously high.

I don't think Dwight's shoulder level is higher than Bynum's or Gasol's. Bynum's no way because Bynum also has the 'high-shoulder syndrome' going on. Like Dwight he has a relatively small head and he lacks in any neck and shoulder slope. Dwight's shoulder level is comparable if not higher than taller players like Bosh and Kwame Brown's though, but no way is he higher in shoulder height than Bynum or Gasol.

first of all, how can someone who's been posting since 05 ask a question like this? and make a thread this big?

2nd, dwight howard sucks, and he doesnt want htis thread bumped.

6'8 elton brand...7 ft wingspan. how is that not enough information? i knew this stuff back when i was a sperm cell. i had to use my spermspan to get passed the bigger ones. they used their size good, but i was obviously the best one available.

a term like that is mostly beneficial when drafting, since there's a lot of unknown and everything that is known is being taken into serious consideration. Whereas in the NBA, terms like these don't matter much, until the player actually do something with it, i.e. win rookie of the month, etc.

Manute Bol had a 8' 6" wingspan. That's the record.

Is there an internet page where you can find the wingspans of all the NBA players?

All? No. The reason for this is many agents will not allow their players to show up to the combine because it might (negatively) effect their draft standing.

Still, here is a good collection:

I am not sure where they measured Bol's wingspan. He's incredibly skinny, though. 240 lb at 7,6 ish? That's mad skinny! What's even more impressive about Bol's wingspan is that it's all from his arm length and not torso/shoulder width unlike most/many players with very long wingspans.

I am only 5,9" but my wingspan is nearly 6,2" but my arms while they are long for my height are extraordinary so because I also have very broad square/high shoulders.

skills are important, but you are naive if you think your good if you have work ethic, and heart. 80% of guys in the nba have heart and work ethic, but what separates them is things like skill (as you said) footwork, wing span/length, big hands, and IQ.

Shoulder height is the most important thing. You don't play with your head anyways. Some guys are 'taller' because they have long necks. It's why a 6'8 Elton Brand can get 2bpg. He has the body of a 6'10 guy but he has a short neck.
