Re: The Final Two Roster Spots
I'm fine with it if they can sign him to a 1 year deal. It sounds like Kahn plans to pick him up after he's done with his moves this summer, whatever they may be.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Yeah - it seems like Kahn isn't done yet.
I don't think we can go into the season with Flynn and Bobby Brown as our only two PG. It sounds like Kahn will be doing something to get rid of Atkins. If no Rubio, we likely need to bring in a third PG. Ollie might be a decent option for another cheap one year contract.

Well my IQ is only 196 but I say Slava Medvedenko if he doesn't sign with Olympicious. (Just saw KWSN got banned that sucks.)

He is what he is. I'd much rather take a shot on a young pup out of the d-league or off someone's summer league team. Preferably someone with size that's willing to bang for his bucks.
That sentence has haunted me all day. You're creepin me out!

Re: The Final Two Roster Spots
If I were David Kahn, I'd seriously consider signing Leon Powe to a 2 year deal at approx $1.4-1.5 mil per year. If he were healthy right now, it seems like he'd be getting a deal for about $4 mil per. He is probably an undersized 4, so he probably isn't the best fit for the Wolves. However, he is a very good player, and one of the best 2009 free agents (if healthy). Since we are not playing for 2009, we could essentially pay him to get healthy and get very good value for him in a trade to a contender next spring / summer. I believe $1.4-1.5 per is more than what Cleveland, LAL, Orlando, or Dallas are currently offering him, so he'd be getting a raise to temporarily sign with us and get healthy.
This doesn't exactly help the Wolves even out their roster for the 2009-10 season, so it might be better to the team morale to sign some guy(s) that give them a chance to be competitive this season.

Re: The Final Two Roster Spots
I'm sure no one will be surprised to hear me say that I'd prefer to keep them open, because they are trade assets.
A team like MIL is probably going over the 15-man roster limit. If we do a 1-for-2 with them, that has benefit, because they don't have to pay to buy them out, and have dead, unproductive salary pushing them closer to the lux.
Also, a contending team may appreciate a 1-for-2. Despite being over the lux, they may want the roster spot to add a vet min free agent later in the season to protect their championship ambitions.

I'm making a bold prediction that we will make an offer to Ryan Hollins of the Mavericks.
