Who Finishes Them Off?

Post#1 » by SeizeCoup » Sun Aug 2, 2009 4:57 am

Rondo, Ray, P2, KG, Perk.

This is the lineup which will start most games.

But which lineup will close out those close games?

And also, which combos of players are you looking forward to seeing?

One I can think of is the "last second three" lineup:

House, Ray, Pierce, Scal, Sheed.

Rondo, Ray, Pierce, KG, Perk.

Sheed might replace Perk on offensive substitutions late in game.

Hudson
Giddens
Walker
Scalabrine
Swift

Hard to go with anything besides the starting lineup, though it'd be fun to see a Pierce/Allen backcourt with KG, Perk and Sheed up front.

Well until Rondo can become a threat from 18, I assume Doc will continue to sit him at the end of close games. And Perk probably too will sit out sometimes. So there are two spots open.

House, Ray, Pierce, Kg, Sheed sounds dangerous. But not so excited about House. Wish we had a pg with some scoring ability. Daniels in Danny's never ending desire to turn sg's into pg's?

Rondo, Ray, PP, KG and Sheed is what I think will close out the majority of close games with the starting lineup being a close second.

Doc will go offense defense if its something close down the stretch. I think thats what the OP is really talking about. Clearly House and R. Wallace will replace Rondo and Perkins in those situations IMHO. Rondo doesn't draw enough defensive attention and can clog our half court offense against some teams. Perkins isn't the shooter then Wallace is..

In the last 2 minutes House and Wallace should be in on offensive possessions for Rondo and Perk. Unfortunately, Rondo will be our PG even on offense. I don`t know why Doc is playing him over House but that was pretty much a standard last season...Makes little sense but Rivers is a very stubborn guy...

Rasheed Wallace will not only play on the offensive end in the closing minutes of a tight game. It's not like he is a bad defender. His post defense is one of his biggest strengths.

I just hope that Doc plays the guys who are playing well in that particular game.
