Vikings to deal Taylor to Bucs ? ...

Post#1 » by Nemesis21 » Tue Oct 2, 2007 8:47 pm

The Tampa Tribune reports that there are early talks between the Vikings and Buccaneers that would send RB Chester Taylor and OT Bryant McKinnie to Tampa Bay in exchange for either a player or two and/or a package of draft picks. Earlier Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Vikings coach Brad Childress is planning on splitting the reps between Taylor and rookie Adrian Peterson, but with the Bucs hobbling at running back and left tackle, and in first place in the NFC South, those plans might change.

this is interesting, maybe we send Simms and a draft pick.

what do you think?

I'm excited about this. If we did pull off a deal it would show that the Bucs believe they can be very competitive this year.

However I'd like to see what these guys are making and what Vikings want for em. I heard they want WRs. If that's the case I could see a deal involving maybe Clayton and some picks.
Of course Galloway could also be a target, but with his age and importance to our team, I doubt it.
I could part with any of our WRs save Galloway though it may be premature to give up on Stovall.

I hope they don't touch any of our secondary

All this being said, we don't need to overpay and mortgage our future for one year.

I don't see them getting both. I could see Chester Taylor, but didn't Bryan McKinnie sign a huge contract a few seasons ago? I think there would be a lot of cap penalties and money issues to move that contract.

That would be a great deal for the Bucs, considering Williams, Pittman and Petitgout are down for a long time. Taylor and Mckinnie could fill both those holes. At this point Tampa better do something, as much as I like Ernest Graham I don't think he's going to get it done alone. Taylor was a 1000 yard rusher last year. If we brought him in I'd feel a lot better. I honestly don't think Cadillac will play anymore, and honestly he hadn't been what we thought he was anyway.
You look confused...let me fill you in.
