What do you guys think of him? I really haven't seen much of his game.

Solid defensive center. I'm OK with it. I actually like it. Depends on the terms of the deal though. Dallas might match. They lost out on Gortat, so maybe they want to keep him. Or maybe they offered Gortat because there was no intentions to keep Hollins...

Solid back-up guy who does all the little things we need him to. A real low risk high reward type of deal.

Dampier, Dirk, Gooden, Tim Thomas, and they picked up Jawai and Humphries in the Marion deal, who btw also is likely to see time at PF, so we'll see, but it'd be unusual for them to match considering there's no minutes for him.

Nice. If we're going to be a running team he'll be a good fit.

What kind of contract did we give him, 7 years 49 million?

I like this move (since I'm assuming we didn't overpay for him). Hollins is at the very least someone with the athleticism to block shots and defend the pick n' roll, plus, it'll be nice to finally have someone we might be able to toss alley-oops to. Jefferson/Love/Pecherov/Hollins is a potentially interesting 4 big man rotation.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Interesting bit from the comments page on Canis Hoopus:

And if Dallas matches, it helps to push Dallas over the cap. Smart move.

I'm assuming he actually meant the luxury tax threshhold, not the salary cap itself. Maybe the Mavs would be hesitant if that were the case.

He reminds me of Tyson Chandler (from youtube clips). We already have our Chris Paul in Flynn. We're good to go. :D

Dallas is one team whose center position is almost as weak as ours. All they've got is Ericka Dampier and Hollins as true centers, and a bunch of PFs that can play C in spurts: Dirk Nowitzki, Drew Gooden, Nathan Jawai.

As a Mavs fan I sure hope the Mavs sign him. He's the backup to Dampier and surely the Mavs will get rid of Dampier by the trade deadline or by next summer. The Mavs need a center to replace Dampier and I'd like to see the Mavs keep Hollins as the athletic backup center. Does anyone know the amount of the offer? Assuming it's not a huge amount, Cuban should pay it...he's got billions so what's a few million more including the luxury tax.

I read that Dallas is more interested in keeping Singleton as they can only keep one. Don't see that being true at all. They did just sign Tim Thomas.
