Great. Now we get to see him fight a bunch of guys he can cruise past. Fedor's management has hosed him and it is his own fault.

There are no real interesting matches for him in Strikeforce. Their HW division is weak.

That's about the only interesting matchup. He's already beaten Randlemen, Rodgers and Buentello are okay at best... but there's no doubt about it, there heavyweight divison is weak. I guess we'll have to hold out for Randy to finish up his contact with the ufc and sign with strikeforce and fight fedor at like 46 years old or whatever he'll be **sigh** just dissapointing really

Edit: I forgot about Bob Sapp :droop:

I think Fedor would tool Overeem, but it is the best fight of the bunch I suppose.

Fedor would tool Brock too. Overeem is every bit the freak that Brock is. Monson? Werdum?

It is disappointing that we don't get to see him against the UFC HW division which I am sure we will agree has the best outside of Fedor himself (over all) and gives him more challenges, but also a chance to answer some more of the un-answered questions of MMA.

But on the flip side, this is a great coup for Strike Force, and I am pleased for them. Hopefully they can market Fedor a bit more, get themselves some more limelight through it and help push the sport forward, and a signing like this is the sort of move that can do it.

I don't think Dana White or the UFC will take it personally against Strikeforce, I mean what were they to do. But it has given Dana some pretty fierce ammo against Fedor.

Maybe I shouldn't have spoken so soon ...

"Fedor is a (expletive) joke, he turns down a huge deal and the opportunity to face the best in the world to fight nobodies for no money!" White commented to MMAWeekly.com via email through a UFC representative.

Bit of a ungracious swipe at Strikeforce there. He should have gone straight after Fedor, he didn't need to comment on the state of Stikeforce itself.

But you can't really argue with him. This is a freaking joke.

Them's fightin' words.

Strikeforce had better be prepared for the UFC competition treatment. Wouldn't be surprised to see the August 15th show counter-programmed with a UFC 100 replay or something, even if Fedor isn't on it.

That's what I was thinking. I think Dana is going to hold some kind of UFC event every time Strikeforce has a Fedor event.

IMO, Fedor has been impressive his entire career but I do personally feel that he is fight dodging when it comes to the UFC heavyweights. He could have easily stepped in and told his people to get a deal done regardless and he never did.

I personally feel that Brock could handle Fedor as he is just as strong and just as fast, if not faster. Brock, in my eyes, is the best heavyweight in the world. Rip it if you like but he embarrassed Frank Mir at 100 avenging a fluke loss in which Brock slipped up.
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan

I think Brock would beat Fedor if he fought smart. Fedor would never get off his back.

Strikeforce went from Dana's fun little MMA show that could to UFC competition with this move. I think the UFC will now eventually run Strikeforce into the ground.

I'm going to go ahead and say Strikeforce will be in serious trouble or just straight up out of business by the time Fedor's contract is up.

I do like that their new angle is that they have "the best pound for pound male and female fighters in the world."

Tara LaRosa and Megume Fuji are almost universally rated ahead of either Carano or Cyborg. They have the 2 biggest names in female MMA though.

Outside of Overeem I don't see anyone that would make a good match up for Fedor. I still can't believe they couldn't still come to terms after what Dana tried to pull off.

Overeem is a serious threat. He KOd the best K-1 fighter in the world and has as powerful a single submission as anyone (his guillotine).

They might have signed someone else by the time the two of them fight. This is OK.

It's not Fedor vs Brock, granted.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.
