They might have signed someone else by the time the two of them fight. This is OK.

It's not Fedor vs Brock, granted.

Overeem is a top 10 HW, but he does not have the ground game to compete with Fedor IMO.

And Brock does? Brock's a great wrestler but there's only so much that wrestling can do for you. Fedor armbarred the **** out of Coleman twice, his guard is dangerous to be in and he's got some of the best takedowns in MMA. Overeem has 15 legit submission wins. His stand up rapes Brocks and he's won a **** of fights by submission.

Lesnar's wrestling can do enough. He made Mir look like a child on the ground. Obviously Fedor is on a different level than Mir, but you're selling Lesnar's wrestling short.

Exactly. Overeem will be on his back, Brock will be on top of Fedor. Brock can keep Fedor on his back and avoid submissions with good positioning. Similar to the Mir fight but less devastating.

Luckily Fedor seems to also know this, so instead he will just go beat up on B level fighters.

I saw the suppose proposed offer my UFC (on sportsnet) to Fedor and I think they gave into some demands that they weren't willing to part with at first but figured no risk no reward. I mean 5 mill a fight....how can you not take that?!?!

Well one organization down...one more to go I guess.

At this point, I hope when Strikeforce goes out of business, Dana tells Fedor to shove it and sends him back overseas.

I mean in reality, what were Strikeforce to do, turn their nose up on Fedor just because they didn't want to anger the UFC. Its not their fault that Fedor turned down the UFC. Its not like strikeforce are doing an affliction and trying to go promotion vs promotion, well not so much anyway.

It probably does spell strike force being on the UFC's radar, and probably will be damaging.

I don't like what Fedor has done, it certainly has dulled him to me a bit, but I don't really wish harm on strike force itself, I quite like the organisation and what they do.

It would be funny if Fedor lost his first fight in Strikeforce.

The UFC doesn't need Fedor. Considering all 4 companies Fedor has fought for are out of business, he is no great draw and not worth the money he wants.

I know it sounds crazy, but that is exactly what they should have done. Not only are the paying him more than he will bring in viewers, but they also signaled to the world that they are trying to compete with the big boys. And that is when you start getting counter promoted to death.

Strikeforce has, until recently, been smart enough to be ok with 2nd place.

Let's see. He want to be the highest paid fighter in MMA.

But he wont make the UFC more money than the following: Brock, Randy, Penn, GSP, Anderon, Tito, Forrest, Lidell(if he doesnt stay retired), Hughes, Franklin, Rampage, Rashad, Machida or even Kimbo.

Yeah, moneywise, screw having the best fighter in the world.

Exactamundo. And that is not even mentioning that this sets a pay precedence for the rest of the guys in Strikeforce. This will have guys like Diaz, Shields, and Lawler all wanting to make closer to Fedor money.

Strikeforce, until now, had been very smart with their money. Now they will see all their elite guys lining up for their piece of the pie.

Lets not forget also, that Strikeforce is almost a strictly west coast promotion. So guys like Diaz, Shamrock, Cung Le etc. etc. are king. And people pay to see them. Even they might be bigger draws, atleast locally, than Fedor.

They might have signed someone else by the time the two of them fight. This is OK.

It's not Fedor vs Brock, granted.

He's looking really huge nowadays though, he on the juice? Sure looks like it.

Yeah I agree though, he's a legit HW to beat and even Fedor should have his hands full. I would actually like to see him in the UFC.

I still have hope. Dana White talked sounded really pissed at him, but he forgives everyone. He just signed Tito Ortiz even after what they have been through.

Tito sells PPVs and has made Dana boatloads of money over the years, not the same situation. Fedor will never be in the UFC sadly.

Looks like Dana is determined to ruin strikeforce. I really thought this was a bad call by Strikeforce. And now they are going to have to deal with counter programing. . .
