FA ideas: who's left on the market?
Really it's a strange summer FA-wise because of the economy and some quality players can be had on the cheap because of that. My idea: how about Linas Kleiza? He's a good shooter, runs the floor hard, rebounds well for a wing and he could start here, meaning that he will be more willing to accept less money/years. He's an RFA, but the Nuggets are well over the luxury tax, so it's possible that they will not match.

I don't think we're in the market for free agents. We signed Hollins, but that was a small contract.

yeah, but one can dream, right.
I mean if there is an opportunity to sign someone with upside for relatively cheap, I think that Kahn would at least give it a thought.

Is a Kleiza that guy? I wouldn't think so.

Here's the list of currently available free agents, as well as 2010 candidates:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... ents-09-10
I doubt we sign another free agent, but there are still players that I'm still curious to see where they end up:
David Lee
Glen Davis
Marvin Williams
Leon Powe
Hakim Warrick
Wally Szczerbiak
Linas Kleiza
Rodney Carney
Rashad McCants
Allen Iverson
Nate Robinson
Ray Felton
CJ Watson
Jamaal Tinsley
Ramon Sessions
.. and of course, while it'd be a sign-and-trade, Carlos Boozer is certainly going elsewhere.
MIN's most likely link to free agents at this point may be in trade, providing a team enough financial flexibility for them to sign a free agent.

Hakim Warrick signed with the Bucks, I thought.

He's 24 years old who was a rotational player on a playoff team. I mean he isn't a worldbeater athletically, but he could be a nice offensive player on a running team with a good PG and a good low post player who attracts double-teams.

He's an OK player, but I'd rather keep our options open at this point.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

When Rubio signs, our 15 man roster will be full!!!!
Cross Marvin off too - he resigned with atl.
There are some decent players left on that list. I'd think about Powe at a discount, but it may be best to keep the roster spot open (for Rubio - or for flexibility during the season).

Would Linas Kleiza really bring much to the table that Ryan Gomes doesn't?
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

I think we should sign David Lee and Nate Robinson (and keep Rubio).
Seriously, Marvin Windows was the only name that had any interest to me. Now that he's signed, we should just look toward next year as far as FA go.

Unless we're trying to sign the Lithuanian National Team - we'd have a good start with Songaila & Kleiza.

Just re-sign Carney for cheap and move on.

no need to resign Carney. Unless we do move Qrich. Otherwise keep the roster flexibility.

Re: FA ideas: who's left on the market?
I'm wondering if some combo of Atkins + Brown gets waived with Darius/Q/Cardinal on the trading block for better pieces. i'd say we could have as many as 5 open roster spots for young prospects, guys looking to restart their career or a vet looking for one last paycheck. Stewie is a quandry, is he much of a prospect? i know nothing about him other than the shape of his head.

I'm not for the entire lets add a bunch of mediocre young prospects thing. The key this year is development of Love, Flynn, maybe Rubio, and getting Jefferson back to where he was. I think cheap, but professional veteran players are more helpful in accomplishing that goal.

Re: FA ideas: who's left on the market?
^^i am ok with adding more young unproven guys if we are filling our coaching staff with veteran former players. Otherwise I agree we need some players on this team that knows what it means to have a lasting career in the NBA...
