wow, this post is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) in so many ways...
over value our prospects? Holt and Mejia are two of the top pitching prospects in baseball...what the hell do you know? ask any scout around baseball. This coming from a fan of the Yankees, who have been notorious for overvaluing their prospects, is pretty comical..
everybody gets injuries? sure they do...but not at the severity the mets have been hit with this year..name me any team that has been hit with this many injuries to their top guys at this longevity...yeah that's what I thought.
My problem with you guys this year is that in such a year like this, you are hardly playing the young guys from the minor leagues outside of F-Mart, Niese, and Murphy. You are instead playing these cast away players like Cory Sullivan, Omir Santos, Alex Cora, and Gary Sheffield that really have no business of being on a team's roster as of this minute. I mean how can Sullivan or even Sheffield get more starts at LF than Nick Evans, one of your top rated guys in the farm?!?! How does that make sense?
Yanks this year used Gardner, Cervelli, Coke, Aceves, Melancon, Robertson, Pena who all came from the minors in 2008 or 2009 and each of the aforementioned contributed big time to the 2009 Yankees. Mets havent really done any of this and it is sad to watch since it gives no hope to their fans.
