You know what I am gonna flop here and say I wouldn't take the chance of him messing up chemistry and say I would say absolutely not to Shaq even for min.

But what if just what if he makes a huge impact with the Cavs and he decides to come to LA for min?

If he is really good you have to take him like in your example but I don't see that happening.

Yeah, I can see Shaq coming back if he's willing to let the younger guys take over and Shaq comes in from the bench. Heck, Shaq could win 6th man of the year.

i think itd help kobe's legacy more if kobe was the bigger man and let shaq ride his coat-tails for a ring or two more

by age 39, shaq's ego wouldnt be a problem, hed just be a quotable lovable monster signed for the vet's min here to spell drew or when hes in foul trouble

If I could bet on this I would put some serious cash on Shaq coming back.

#1) It helps Shaq win a ring and just as importantly (to him) keeps him in the center of attention
#2) It keeps Phil around for another year... it intrigues our coach and 1 more time for old-times sake 2010-2011
#3) It allows Kobe to be the bigger person and makes the Lakers a better team
#4) Shaq can talk ish just like Rodman talked ish and got in other players heads
#5) I think it keeps Fish around for another year or 2 for old times sake also
#6) It helps the Lakers win another championship or 2... centers have the longest careers because you cant teach 7 feet
#7) It would be totally fun to watch.. all those great athletes and personalities Shaq Artest LO Kobe Gasol Fish and I bet another ring chasing vet as well sign me up for season tix

F**K SHAQ!! If his azz had played nice he could have still been here just like kobe. I am in no position to want to help him get his fifth ring. He talked trash about this franchise and its fans, while bragging about having more rings than kobe who helped him get his first three. Let him eat that crow while struggling to win another, without the help of the LAKERS.

Had this team been in the position to NEED him back, I could problably suck up my dislike for Shaq for the chance at a chip. Seeing as though we are the favorites without him, screw him. Let him recieve his love during his retirement ceremony, when he has to say how he screwed up the chance to be a laker for the majority of his career.

Not to mention all the people around here want bynum to grow and allow Kobe to build his own legacy. He needs us more than we need him.

People act is if Shaq is wanted here and somehow has a choice in the matter.

Neither Buss or Kobe would welcome him back, especially if we repeat. What would they need him for, exactly? He's burning bridges everywhere he goes and there's nothing he can say or do that would change his standing with Buss (especially) or Kobe.

So anyway, no thanks. I grew quite tired of Shaq's sorry ass attitude and 3rd grade humor while he was still here and now that he's just a shell of his former self I'd rather see him elsewhere desperately trying to get another ring.

cosign on the above - as much as I loved and appreciated Shaq, there is no need for the monsterous ego of his on our team. Media whoring and drama of the past was tolerable when he was the MDE. But at his age, that crap does not fly now.

I had to chuckle when I saw the ESPN page showing his big ass face next to Kobe vs Lebron showdown. I'm sure Lebron is not gonna enjoy sharing headlines with Shaq. Unless they become a dominant team, I can envision a trainwreck for the Cavs.

now shaq is Lebron problem. let's keep it that way...

I take it back. Shaq immediately changes the identity of this team. I can't see it, and don't want to see it. If this team fell apart, then I wouldn't mind taking Shaq. But for now, absolutely no. This team is as fine as it is.

Cleveland should have built this team up with young talent and have done the reverse selling older players for good young ones.

If the Cavs did more of what Portland did since 2003 than they would be in a great place right now. Instead (aside from the MO W trade) the Cavs have mortgaged their long term success for the short term gain.

The Cavs stole Shaq the biggest expiring contract in the NBA who also sells tickets... but if the Cavs break up it will have more to do with Cleveland not developing young talent and trading away the old core for picks than having Shaq on the team for 1 year.

I think the craziest thing they did was signing Andy V. The other moves are pretty understandable.
