We aren't going to find a great pitcher on waivers, but maybe we can hit lightning in a bottle. Gaudin had a pretty decent ERA during his last stint in the AL with the A's around 4.40 a season or two ago, and he also can pitch in long relief. Cash said he throws 94 with a solid slider. Apparently, it's for a PTBNL or cash...so not going to be much of a loss.

this is a solid trade! he gets like a strike out an inning, and with the Yankees with the offense, he should def be able to keep us in the game. and like stated before. He can be used out of the pen. so if nothing else we got some bullpen depth at minimal cost

We can't get every big name that hits the market. To win you sometimes need the "little guys" and "glue guys" that get you through the odd-game, or long inning. Perfect example is this Red Sox series, where our Bullpen has been TREMENDOUS in supporting the stellar SP. It's the way the Yanks used to win during the Dynasty-run at the end of the Millennium.

SF: Gordon Hayward (36)/ Delly (12) / Dudley

C: Pau Gasol (32) / Noah (16) / Felicio

Fangraphs has a pretty good article on gaudin. Looks like he could be very good in the bullpen used correctly. I really like his numbers against RH's and the K/9 is also very encouraging.

I agree that Gaudin is a solid pickup, He has a good fastball and experience as a starter and in the pen..

If Mitre shows he isn't good enough Gaudin can fill in but he will also allow Girardi to give more rest to Acevas, Cook and the others.

Nice pickup Cash!
We are discussing no small matter, but how we ought to live.

I've heard he has the stuff, never control so far. 26, occasionally it does happen late 20's for these types of guys. Not much given up anyhow.
