The rules aren't changing.
Also if you don't want to keep a 'crappy' D-man at the end of the year then don't. It just means you only have 6 keepers going into next year and you will have an extra round of draft picks added on. 7 is just the maximum number of keepers you can keep. if you wanted to only keep 1 player, you could do that. but it would really be a disadvantage to do so.

Agreed, there are a few draftees who check the post less frequently than others. It should take a few weeks to complete this draft.

these drafts always take a few weeks...the later rounds take longer usually too.

that's why we are doing the draft so early.
