Tom, any chance we still add Carney? Looks like he's still available from what I can tell.

He's still around. Maybe he can fill that vet's minimum swing man slot!

I did see him in a summer league game with Denver I think. You really can't tell much from those games. All I remember him doing was standing around on the perimeter.

Heard the Sixers are leaning toward invite two or three guys to camp to compete for that spot. Carney, Joey Graham, Stephen Graham and Linton Johnson are the kind of guys they'd be looking at. Contract wouldn't be guaranteed and would be for the minimum, which is not what Carney wants at this point. If he doesn't get any other offers, he might consider here.

Sixers will only be wearing red on the road (no black or blue) and white at home in 2010-11.

Brezec and Ivey are supposed to be coming in later this week for physicals and to sign one-year contracts.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Was asked why Sixers would sign a big guard who defends in Ivey when they already have Holiday. Stefanski said Jordan liked Ivey more than any of the other available guys at or close to the minimum level.

So there's still time for one of us to step up and pull a Tanya Harding on Ivey? Who's the biggest fan here?

Saw the Sixers' new home court this morning. Looks nice. The lanes are blue, with the free-throw rebounding areas red and the outside of the court blue.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Tom could you tell us if the picture posted in the other thread "Jerseys" is in fact the actual sixers jersey for this season?
I thought they were going back to the classic style, but even though they've incorporated some of the elements, they've bastardized it to such an extent that its difficult to look at. I suppose it's too late for anything to be done about it now. I wonder what kind of polls they ran if any to see if this was received well by the public. If I'm not mistaken they did some testing last year, so I think that that gave everyone the impression that the jerseys might actually look good.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Stefanski today on Lou Williams: "Lou did not have a good (first) 60 percent or whatever of last year. I don’t think he had as good a year at the beginning. Then he came on strong at the end. There’s no question Lou is a good guard. Now he’s going to have to do a little bit of both – not just worry about his points, but get other guys involved."

Also, Sixers have invited Christmas to camp, but sounds like he's checking out European possibilities first.

Roster will be 13 or 14, with 14th guy young if they go that route.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
I asked Stefanski why the Sixers signed Ivey when his strengths (size, defense) are similar to Holiday's: "The coach and coaching staff wanted Royal Ivey back because of his familiarity with the team. He’s a well-liked guy on the roster. His size and his defensive mentality. They were asking us, with the people we were looking at, to re-sign Royal. Eddie’s feeling with the 2-guard front, we had a few names for that set-up guy, but Eddie was [swayed by] the size of Royal and the defense. Like anybody, we don’t throw too much on the rookie. I’ve said it publicly, but it’s really going to be Eddie’s call (with playing time). But because he likes the rookie’s size and he defends, that’s going to get you minutes."

The images on the "jerseys" thread aren't coming up on my computer. I didn't actually see the jerseys, but the center-court logo at the Wachovia Center looks like the logo they put on the white playoff T-shirts they gave out in April. They're only wearing red on the road and white at home in 2009-10 -- no more black or blue unis on the road.
