I'm not inclined to believe him only because fighters are all tested for this stuff especially in the UFC specifically. The only way it could be true where if once again, the drug makers have surpassed the testing... though that's possible, I personally don't think where at that point yet again...

You just never know, GSP to me doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would use 'roids, but I could say the same about Rashard Lewis. You absolutely have to give the benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty and all that. I can't see someone like GSP using them, but again you just don't know.

I do have to say, it's disappointing to see Penn still going on about this, its pretty much at the point where so much has been thrown to see if anything stuck, and it comes off almost as desperate. BJ just needs to leave it behind him, and move on.

Steroids in sports has become a huge story though... it's almost come to the point where it's guilty until proven innocent, atleast in major league baseball...

I have read game of shadows and followed this steroid story pretty closely over the last few years... The real problem was that there was drugs designed to cover up the usage of the steroids or any of the affiliated signs. Guys wound up being on 4/5/6 different supplements all at once. No test at the time was capable of detecting these things. It's the same story in computer virus land. It's really the anti virsuses that are trying to keep up the hackers. That same thing worries me with steroids. We could never really know who's cheating... though i hope GSP wouldn't use this stuff and he doesn't strike me as somebody who would but even still...

I don't think GSP is a roider, but it wouldn't surprise me. He wants to win so badly and he comes across as weak-minded at times. I have a hard time taking BJ's accusations seriously, though.

I can not stand when my favorite athletes make douche bags out themselves crying to the media. I once had Shaq as my fav, then his "feed the big dog" comments had me turn to Kobe, then Kobe went and cried to media for a trade, now my favorite is Lamar Odom. BJ is my favorite fighter but he is acting like such a baby my favor is shifting towards Torres, Aldo or Nick Diaz. BJ needs to just shut up and take his wuppin like a man, GSP is a animal plain and simple, I dont like GSP but the dude is a freak of nature.

If guys want to ruin their bodies to fight better, good for them. Considering there are weight limits for classes, Steroids are not much of an issue in MMA.

Ruin the sport how? It hasn't ruined or even hurt baseball, and considering MMA has weight classes, bulking up can actually hurt a fighter. This is not pro bodybuilding. If a guy like GSP starts taking roids, he will not be able to stay at 170 and it could actually hurt him.

Roids haven't hurt any sport and in fact, probably saved baseball. Steroids is a media issue that the vast majority of fans could care less about.

Not ruined baseball? Ok sure, but how about tainted irrevocably. Any homer run hitter going past 61 will now be scrutinized to the umpteenth degree and the ones who have broken the real record have been proven cheaters.

Why would a hardcore fan like myself and even the casual fan want to see GSP railroad his opponent with illegal performance enhancing drugs. What's the benefit in seeing a perfectly elite athlete one up his opponents with drugs.

You're handling the roids issue like its a practical matter for the participants. Its not a practical matter but rather a ethical matter because any athlete in any sport can win via training and mental conditioning. THere should be no other aspect to sport except those two. If you can't win then its simply a matter of genetics or your own failure to train the mind and body. Once you start introducing banana pants, wrestling shoes, drugs, vaseline, etc you destroy the integrity of the sport. I don't want to see man+ vs man.

Steroids is most certainly a big issue in sports... To say that fans don't care is incredabily innacurate... I'm not sure that they care enough to stay away, as we all love seeing records broken and incrediable performances etc... infact it's this desire that often drives an athlete to use performance enhancing drugs. But what bothers me about it is that athletes had drugs to alleviate the symptoms of steroid use. There was no tangiable test to determine who was on them and who wasn't... seemingly everyone was clean. Some can argue that if everyone was on them, who cares, the playing field is still even... and though i see that point, I just don't agree. The athletes that have been busted for steroids, specifically the ones whom where stars or have set records have been disgraced to no end. To say that fans don't care would be sadly innacurate. We all care, it just's hard to tear ourselves away from our sports, irregardless of who tests positive. But it's like I mentioned before, I liken it to computer viruses and the anti viruses... one is always chashing the other but never catching up. I feel like the drug testers are always going to be playing catchup with the drug makers. It's sad that this is what sports has been reduced too, but it is what it is i guess... some accept it and some don't, but ultimetely, we all keep coming back.
