OT: Hypothetical Silly Question...
You are allowed to watch only one sport for the rest of your life, and you can see the full preseason, regular season, and post season for that respective sport, which sport do you choose and why ?
This is a little unfair and easier to say the NBA because most of us are Californians and we don't have a local team, but we do have the Chargers down South, and the Raiders and 49'rs up North.

Re: OT: Hypothetical Silly Question...
This used to be a slam dunk for me, basketball, but over the last few years it's becoming more and more fuzzy, and I have decided to change my answer to the NFL over the NBA. I've followed the Baltimore Ravens for only a short time since 2000, but every year I love it more than the last.
I've been a LAL fan as long as I can remember, and 80's bball was unforgetable, but it's not the same as it used to be with free agency, bloated salaries, everyone is buddy buddy with each other, little animosity. We have 4 teams that can win the Championship this upcoming year, and last year we had 2 going into the playoffs, and the NFL has well over 10 teams that can win it going into the season. The NFL is a 53 man roster and more than any other sport everybodys gotta be on the same page to do it, offense, defense, lines gotta be tight, special teams is huge, management has to be brilliant, mixed with a little luck. Every week they battle and put their bodies on the line, and if it wasn't for the primadonna receivers and some obnoxious announcers the sport would be near perfect.
I watched the preseason Hall Of Fame game yesterday and had a blast. It received a 50 something rating, and the best rivalry in baseball competing on air Redsox/Yankees got a 30 something rating for a preseason NFL game that is meaningless, pretty amazing. Al Michaels & Chris Collingstworth looks to be a great team, finally! I was tiring of Madden & his antics. Tony Dungy whose going to be part of the broadcast I believe all season provided some great insight, then you got the NFL all access network with Rich Eisen, even the NFL as a media is getting polished up.
I'm looking forward to Ron Artest in the LAL lineup, and Pau making his effort for 1st team all NBA, and making another run with some top heavy NBA teams, but really what are we talking about 10 games that are amazing until the playoffs start? As much as I love our Lakers, I'd have to select the NFL over the NBA.

basketball is the only sport i can watch something from start to finish
you're older than me so i'll give you that for ur different opinions, but basketball is the best sport ever, most universal sport i think (not soccer)

Re: OT: Hypothetical Silly Question...
not counting bball, i'd go with soccer. soccer is a family event in my household, its the only sport that every single person in my neighborhood is passionate about. i don't think i could tune out the world cup for anything.

Basketball pretty easily for me, it's by far my favorite sport. Football would be 2nd, I like baseball but it's kind of boring to watch.

Holy smokes, i rather give up my left nut.
I enjoy the overall football season more than the NBA....but there is no franchise that i love more than the Lakers.
So with that reason, i would choose the NBA.

Basketball hands down, followed by baseball. Screw **** football, football sucks and has sucked since we our Rams left.

Re: OT: Hypothetical Silly Question...
Here's the LAL tough games next year...BOS,BOS,CLE,CLE,ORL,ORL,SASx4...10 games, vs the NFL that has murderous do or die games weekly.
You guys know as well as I do that unless it's those teams the game doesn't start until 4 minutes left in the third quarter.
The LAL are my favorite team of any sports team, but overall if I could only watch one sport, the NFL would be my selection.
