Man, I really, really hope Tazawa can pitch halfway decent for us tomorrow. Asking an awful lot of the kid, but I'd rather see him out there than Penny towards the end of August.

So I take it you didn't get to see any of the games last week? Because anyone who watched that team and associates a playoff berth with them is on the verge of senility, sorry sunshine.

I sure did watch it, I was at 2 of the games(Friday and Saturday). I saw 25 innings of 0 runs. Nothing from this past week changed my opinion of this team.

Re: Season game thread
Well I guess you're name represents your attitude well then, I wish I had the same outlook.
I have no hope in this team, they've shown no backbone since June. And there isn't a thing they can do against all these teams that aren't NY or TB that will change my mind. Our only hope for offense is Jason Bay going on a Beltran-like contract run, and us somehow landing a competent shortstop through waivers, both of which I don't have too much hope in.

Re: Season game thread
This team has become so hated over the last few years. Hated as much as the yankees.
We went from: "Oh you're a red sox fan, damn, I feel bad, you guys are cursed or something, I'm really rooting for you guys to win"
to: "I **** hate the red sox"
That's gonna be a weird transition.

Can't really blame them, they're doing what they're told to do, like the good little sheep they are.

Kevin Youkilis and Rick Porcello have been suspended five games and fined for their roll in the brawl between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night. Tigers pitcher Edwin Jackson was also fined for his roll in the brawl.

I thought Watson would make a point, like Beckett last year.
Remy doing the 2nd inning tonight I guess, that should be cool.

Man, it's great to hear him again - sounds incredibly nervous.
Got goosebumps seeing that standing O from Fenway.

It really does - especially something like depression. I have a family member effected by it and it's a bitch of a disease to kick. Hopefully his treatment is going well.

Clay with a very good outing, but Verlander is just ridiculous.

Verlander was just silly good. Throwing 100 with 122 pitches thrown, very impressive.

Re: Season game thread
haha, I wish. Alex Gonzalez.
Apparently he was hurt last year though, and isn't the same defensive guru we had in '06. Hopefully he'd be able to turn routine DPs at least (*glaring at Nick Green*).
