Kevin Love for Anthony Randolph

Post#1 » by VelvetPancakes » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:52 pm

Do you make this trade? Both have very high potential. Is it uneven from either side? Does K-Love fit into GS's frontcourt plans?
This would increase our athleticism, gets us a fantastic SF prospect (especially for an up-tempo offense), and hopefully alleviate some worries about an undersized frontcourt (draft or FA a true C).

GSW won't trade Randolph for anyone not named LeBron James.

What would you guys be willing to give up to get Randolph? Love and Flynn? or is that too much?
Would you be willing to take on any of GS's contracts, for Jackson/Maggette/Biedrins?

I'd need at least 1 pick without any protection from Golden State to think about taking on Magette and Jackson. Plus I like Love better than Randolph.

remember those rules i suggested? teams will not want to move young players. they are very invested. neither team does this deal.

I can see all of the GSW board commiting mass suicide if this deal comes through.

Never gonna happen, though. Even Nellie ain't that crazy.

Randolph might be flashier, but Love is gonna win more games dammit, he does all the little things. Sure he might not block a shot one end, sprint to the other for a dunk and beat his chest in a 20 pt loss, but he will get an offensive rebound in a scrum hit the putback and get fouled on a 3 point play the OLD fashioned way in a tie game with under a minute to go, thats the real juice ladies and gentleman, thats the real juice

I'll stick with the real Love juice.

wait...that didn't come out right...

Love's rebounding and outlet passing are going to be critical for this new running team and I'm looking forward to some pick-n-rolls with Flynn and Rubio.

No thanks. As stated above both teams are invested in their young player, but also Love did better in the regular season then Randolph. I am not going to look past that because Randolph did very well in the SL. Until he shows improvement in the regular season I will see Love as the best player of the two.

are you serious?
they both 20-years old sophs, to compare them based on their so called "accomplishments" up to this point is silly. the main thing when discussing young players is "potential" and in that department Randolph has an edge. And pretty big one.

Love was better in high school, better in college, better in his rookie year, its what we have to go on. The reasons you'd have for saying Randolph has a huge advantage in potential over Love would be the same ones you could use for saying Deandre Jordan has a huge advantage in potential over Al Jefferson

if it's not a joke post, then you're drawing conclusions that are based on stereotypes: randolph is a "flashy loser guy" and love is a "hardworking winning guy". well for starters, GSW had more wins last season than the Wolves (not to mention the fact that their team's respective results got absolutely nothing to do with all of this). second, I question your familiarity with the Randolph's game and his work ethnic: he does the little things too and he has shown more commitment on working on his game and body than Love up to this point.

or I could turn that logic the other way and say that someone like Curry was better than someone like Flynn in college and therefore he would be better in NBA. you like that logic now?
and no, Love wasn't better than Randolph in his rookie year, he just had the green light with his coach.

Its possible Randolph has a better career than Love, I just don't see any history to point to that in their basketball careers. Its fine with me if you see something special in Randolph, I don't really feel that strongly about it, nor the responsibility to win you over. Also the Curry point is the opposite since he played against a completely different level of competition than Love, who played against the very highest.
