Hollins is more of a backup to the backup. They aren't quite as valuable.

Yeah, your standard 5th big. Not good enough to be in the league, but someone has to be.

Whatever, he's an athletic 7 footer, regardless of what he has (or hasn't) shown to this point, I'm willing to wait until I see him in the context of our team before I pass judgement. He at least theoretically fills a hole that needed to be filled.

Is that your opinion based on scouting him? If you've watched him play, you know more than me. Dallas fans seemed to want him back, or at least they did before Cuban confirmed the Mavericks wouldn't be matching. I think that's a good sign.

At worst, he is a high-energy big man who can defend, but also is foul prone.

At best, he is a good backup Center who can defend and score inside baskets for us and knows his role.

I'm just happy to have someone on this team with the length and athleticism to be on the finishing end of a lob pass. I don't have high expectations, but it seems like an okay gamble. His minutes played and PER have improved every year he's been in the league, and he had a couple nice moments for Dallas in the playoffs. Not too much risk involved, even though I was surprised when I saw the amount of years and money we gave him.

he will be a fan fav that will bring excitement in limited stretches. 10-15min here or there of limited productivity and foul trouble. If we can control the fouls he could be a more effective back-up.

He could see more minutes if Love falls victim to the 2nd year curse ...

Or Cardinal. :( because the second year here even from a trade (Jefferson) is subject to the curse.

The knee curse left with McHale.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Good. I don't want to see Cardinal laid up.
